I work with a guy that did this in Tampa, I don't think it was a paid job just volunteer. He got to be on the field for all the home games and hang out with the cheerleaders. He said it was a cool gig.

I believe they are the Cowboys flag bearers who celebrate in the endzone and on the field before, at Halftime and after the game to help rouse up the crowd. I believe they also assist the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders...

Many colleges and universities have a group of students do the same thing during home football games.
Some schools have all males perform the action; other schools have gone to a coed squad.
