Who do we resign first - Bryant or Lee?

If I'm not mistaken both contracts come up at the same time and we need to lock both up to huge contracts. I would likely opt to give it to Lee first since he has never been a behavior concern and giving Dez a huge signing bonus very well may cause him to buy some ridiculous gold chains again, I think it'd be better timing to give him it during the offseason so that he has time to properly adjust while on the other hand I don't think any maturity issues will come into consideration for Lee.... In addition if we locked up Lee now we would get him at a Ratliff (07?) esque bargain as his injuries will greatly pull down the amount he gets when compared relative to his performance on the field, if he performs at the same level but remains healthy all season the amount he receives on his next contract will increase 25% or so (if not more), better to get it signed now.

If we could get Lee for $5M/yr I'd sign him now.

If they are asking in the $7M/yr range I'd wait because that is already what the top guys make who don't have a history of major injury issues. MLB is typically not considered a premier position where big dollars get thrown around.

The other thing to consider is Lee only has one more year left on his rookie deal but Dez has two years left on his.

Dez is the best player on this team imo I guess one could argue Ware is but never the less Dez is the future. Lee is pretty damn good too but I think dez is a franchise type guy who you sign at all costs.

BDG it's R2A we are talking about here. We all know his feelings on Dez it was just a post to flame him since there isn't anything bad to say about him now. He just can't get over it.
