If the Draft falls this way. Who do you take?

1. Carolina - Cam Newton
This is going to be Riveras pick. Carolina is in rebuild mode. Cam will be the new face of the team. Sells tickets too.
2. Denver - Nick Fairley
Fairley is the best player in this draft. Denver needs a DT. Him and Dumerville are going to Dominate
3. Buffalo - Marcell Dareus
Bills play both 3-4 and 4-3 and Dareus can play both.
4. Cincy - Blaine Gabbert
This pick is Essential. Palmer Wants out or retires. They need a QB
5. Arizona - Von Miller
This pick has been the same since mocks have came out.
6. Cle - AJ Green
They need a wr bad, and they get one. Could be Julio Jones here too
7. SF - Patrick Peterson
DB is their biggest need.
8. Tenn - Da'Quan Bowers
His injury and other players improvements. And other teams needs drop him.

If this happens we would be semi-lucky, with both Quinn & Jones on the board there will be a market to trade down. If we stay and select Tyron Smith, Cam Jordan, Quinn, Prince, JJ watt are our best options.

I'm a huge supporter of trading down in this draft, and with Quinn & Jones still on the board there should be some offers, i'd probably try to slide down to 12-15 and take whoever falls from the list above.

Rivera will not take Newton for 2 reasons: Newton is not that good and rebuilding starts at the lines not at the backfield. Buffalo, Cinci, Arizona= I would not be surpised to see both QBs going in those three picks.

Quinn or Tyron Smith

But Julio Jones has a great chance at going before us too, some say before AJ Green. Which would push one of those names down to us. Bowers is an interesting name that hasnt been discussed. If Bowers were there I would trade down. I dont really see his fit and there would be value to him in a trade down.

They would be able to slide back, pick up maye a 4th, and still get Tyron

I would look to trade back but if I had to make a pick it would be between Nick Fairley or Prince Amukamara

I'm actually kind of afraid it will shake down much this way with the same choices remaining you have outlined. It means ther isn't an obvious pick to make for JJ and co. I would hope for Quinn or Watt with Aldon Smith as a possible mild surprise.

Sorry, just noticed that. Then I would take Prince but as I said I would look to trade 9 (I do think there will be offers) and take an OL. I think there are some solid picks but 9 is too high for any of them

If they trade down they can gain enough ammo to end up with two 1st round picks.

So instead of 9 and 40, they end up with 14 and 28. And take Cam Jordan and Gabe Carimi

I'd probably take Cameron Jordan. My favorite option is what MB4 just suggested though, trade down from 9 and target Watt or Jordan and then trade up from our 2nd into the late first and grab one of the last top tier tackles.

Its been reported Rivera spent alot of time talkin with Cam at his proday. Even at the combine.

Cam Newton isn't even a first round pick, let alone the first overall or a top ten pick

Cowboys trade down, take an offensive tackle

The NFL disagrees

My take is the lowest he goes is 5, and possibly 1st overall(Although I think it would be the Commanders taking him at 1)

so what, he's probably talked to twenty teams at his proday and at the combine, it doesn't mean anything

I would be very pleased if that was our haul.

Cam Newton = Jamarcus Russell..

And Jamarcus Russell went #1 overall.

I think you are confusing some things here, or you are confusing others with your take.

It is not a matter if someone here thinks he is worthy of a #1 or even a first round pick.

Some team is going to take him in the first round.

I would not, but some team is going to do it no matter how much someone else says he is not a first rounder.

So maybe you are just saying he is not worth a first round pick, and I would agree, but it does not mean he will not be a first rounder and possibly a top of the first round draft pick.

I said Jamarcus Russell would be a bust and not worthy of a first round pick, let alone the first pick overall, and made $500 on that bet with my buddy who's a dumb Raider fan

Cam Newton is nowhere ready to play in the NFL, and you don't spend a first overall pick on a very raw project, that's where you spend a 4th round pick on, he should of stayed in school another year and if there's a GM out there that takes him in the top ten, should be fired because in three years they'll be looking to draft a real quarterback, because Can Newton is the classic college quarterback that fail in the pros. I watched him this past year, and listening to his interviews, he's all about everything, but football. The Quarterback position is alot about mental, and Newton is lacking alot in that department.

And as far as people saying, the NFL says he's a first round pick, even on the NFL network last night, one of the commentators who talk to those in the know around the league, he stated under twenty teams he talked to said they wouldn't take him in the first round. I know there are dumb teams, raiders washington, Cincy, etc that would waste a early first round pick on him, but that's why they always suck.

I remember that offensive tackle frm Maryland last year, his name escapes me right now, but was drafted by the raiders in the fourth round, when everyone was saying he's a first round pick because of his workout and measureables.

The NFL has got to move the draft up, there's too much time between the combine, which is way over-rated as far as I'm concerned and the draft. There's two month's of shear nonsense speculation about what this guy and that guy can bring, mostly over nothing. I usually just tune out the NFL between the combine and the draft.

If it's BPA straight up, you have to take Quinn, imo.

We don't draft that way, so it could be anyone.
If it were me, I would either take Quinn or try to drop back a few slots and pick up a 2nd or 3rd. Then maybe package that extra pick and move back into the late 1st round to get another impact player without losing a pick.
------
oops...I see that MB4 has spelled out something like that already! So, I'll do that too unless it's Quinn. ;)
