Who do you think will be a surprise cut?

I would like to see Dunbar -- who is gadget player IMO -- cut and replaced with a RB with potential 3-down skills or goalline skills: Bryce Brown, Thomas Rawls, Montee Ball, Kendall Hunter.

Seriously though Dunbar is going to get cut for a legit runningback who will get cut from another team. McFadden can do anything Dunbar can and better.

That is the way I saw it from the time we signed McFadden, he is a better Dunbar, so why have two on the team?

Brinkley is gone. But I am not sure if its a surprise at this point. And for those people that say money is a factor, it is not. The money has been paid. Why add insult to injury and make your team worse by keeping him? Makes no sense. Thank goodness our front office isnt run by people in here. :)

Couple plays behind the line?

Tell me of those couple of plays please.

Sorry, right at the line. At 6:39 of the first quarter he made the first hit on Asiata's one yard gain. Next play, he took on three guys, leaving Gachkar untouched to make the stop at the line. Towards the end of the second quarter at 1:54 stood up the O Lineman and made the hit right at the line but got dragged for a couple yards. Point is, he is the only one that doesn't give ground in the middle. We have lots of guys that can get up the field but he is the one that holds the interior of the defense together. Sorry you don't think he makes any plays. As I said, the coaches disagree with you.

I'll go and check your points of references out.

And yes, the coaches do disagree with me. Granted, they are professionals and I am not.

I am now about done going back and watching about half of Hayden's snaps from last year and I'll just recap my observations with one word:

Atrocious.

I am in no way a big Hayden fan, I wish we could replace him but he does offer something to the defense. Sometimes gotta have that guy that occupies people so the other guys just have to beat one guy.

I understand where you are coming from.

I guess I take issue with the notion that Hayden occupies people. From everything that I have watched from last year, the real games, that is not true at all. Quite the opposite. Teams singled him up almost every play he was out there in every game, and were very successful.

Maybe he has gotten better this preseason. I just don't think it would be beneficial to have what he gave us out there last year this year.

I don't want to hijack the thread with another Hayden pile on.

I do think that Lance Dunbar could be a surprise cut. I just went and watched the first half of the Seahawk game from last year and he played very well in that game. Converted several crucial third downs with the ball in his hands as a receiver out of the backfield. Unfortunately, that was a rarity with him last year instead of being something consistently featured in the offense.

While I agree Dunbar should be upgraded, the thing that gets lost is that he is on every special team so it's pretty much a lock he sticks around that 3rd RB has to be a special team guy.
