Who Does Your Gut Say It's Going to Be at 24?

What’s your issue with Chop?
Dallas already has a super athletic DE. Teams deliberately run at Parsons, he isn't the greatest edge setter. In some cases they don't even block him, on purpose. Drafting another one of these pass rush specialist types, shouldn't be a priority. They can draft a rotational piece to go with Parsons later in the draft. There are also, way more holes on the team that I would fill first.

There will no longer be a best LT available at 24. The best LT will be Tyler Smith.

JPJ, Barton or trade back.
JPJ will be gone as well. Not sold on Barton yet but I’m always open minded. In a trade back makes sense.

Having multiple super athletic pass rushers doesn’t really sound like a bad thing to me. It’s arguably the 3rd most important position in the game and you usually can’t get them unless you pick in the top 15 or pay huge $ in free agency.

Im not saying we should be necessarily be targeting pass rusher at 24, but if a freak like Robinson falls into your lap at 24 I don’t see how you can be upset.

I wouldn’t mind having 2 Parsons like rushers on the team.

If we are rebuilding, take best player available.

Trade down with Detroit, Baltimore or KC and pick up a 3rd - the pick Zach Frasier.

I would rather have Robinson at 24... with Tank getting long in the tooth. I would prefer an edge setting guy who still has rush ability. Helps in the run game and all that Jazz. Sam Williams is more of the run yourself out of the play kind of DE too. If they want an understudy for Parsons grab Jaylen Harrell in the 5th round.

This is pretty much the script being written out. Just a matter if Guyton makes it…kinda hope he and Mims are gone honestly.
Which DT or LBr should we pencil in for the 3rd?

If we meet with Trotter Ill go with him else Trevin Wallace.

I'm pretty certain it will be offense if they follow the recent pattern of alternating OFF/DEF each draft year. The only IOL we've taken since MM took over is Farniok in round 7. They prefer to draft OTs that can also play guard. Troy Fautanu would fit that bill but with the premium placed on LTs I would be surprised if he made it to us. Mims and Guyton could be options but either probably wouldn't move inside, both have injury histories, both have limited experience, and both played RT and would need to switch. If a blue chip player doesn't fall to us I'll guess Graham Barton whose played OT, OG, and OC with either Tyler Smith moving outside or one of the many day three OTs we've drafted getting a shot at the job.

This is the way. I feel like plugging one hole is much easier than plugging LT and Center.

LT Tyler Smith
LG TJ Bass
C Barton / JPJ
RG Martin
RT Steele

You then have some depth with Ball, Richards, Waletzko, Hoffman who can play LT, LG, C, RG, RT

IMO, I have not seen anything with Ball that would warrant any more patience for him. Waletzko’s is almost in that category too for me.

I have a gut feeling the team may like Hoffman more than most people wanna believe. I do think he can be better than Biadasz. At minimum, I think he’s quality depth at OG/OC. He’s a dog; check the video below. He was out there burying 49er d-linemen.

I think it’s more they are draft picks and they let them ride their contracts out as opposed to them actually seeing the field.

Also with limited picks and the lack of free agent signings, I could see both kept to keep the OL numbers up. We likely add 1 pick and an UDFA

Some TE that they will say they had rated as the number one overall pick.

Right now feels like JPJ or Guyton.

No chance the premium 3 WR's drop. They have Bland, Diggs, and Lewis so I don't see them being enamored with a CB, even if Mitchell or Arnold somehow slipped. UCLA Edge Lafu is the wildcard.

Also, if JPJ and the OT's are all gone, I would not be surprised if they took Frazier at 24. The Jones are awful at moving up and down the board and have zero qualms about reaching because there are no consequences for their actions.

My favorite will be when someone trades up to 23 to take JPJ, the Cowboys spin at they never even wanted JPJ, and then they reach like heck for Tanor Bortolini or Beaux Limmer at pick 56.
