It is late and much quieter now, so I wanted to ask..any other old timers in here that remember this game?

Monday Nighter @ RFK in 1978 and Cowboys lose 9-5.

This is still one of the more bitter regular season losses for me.

Monday Night
in Wash DC
I was a freshman in high school and the abuse I took on Tuesday morning. Oh boy!

Tough game for Roger.

Was that fourth quarter safety intentionally given up or was it a great play by the Manster?

I remember watching that game. If I'm recalling it right, Theisman intentionally took the safety with very little time left so the Skins wouldn't have to punt from the endzone.

For a game with no TD's by either team, it was pretty good stuff, except for the outcome. For some reason, I remember Meredith and Cosell commenting late in the game that this was one of the more entertaining games they'd had on MNF, even with the low scoring.

"The catch" has been and will always be the worst loss for me. It trumps all regular and post season losses.

Ha ha Dupree ... Yes I remember it. I guess that saints debacle has us searching for other painful losses ..

I have to say I remember that 78 season fondly though.
We were 1 rated defense and even tho we started out 6-4, we wound up 12-4 and went to the Super Bowl.
That was the year Danny white led us back against Atlanta in the playoffs.

Hollywood Henderson predicted a shutout in the NFC championship game and we delivered 28-0.

And Hollywood said Bradshaw was so dumb he couldn't spell cat if you gave him the c and the a. LOL

And Bradshaw just throwing the ball up deep ( Ala Eli manning ) and his reciever making incredible catches.
That Super Bowl loss forever sealed my hatred for all things steeler.
Aw ... The good ole days

Seeing that little twerp Theismann scampering back to his end zone, holding the ball in the air, was an angering moment to a game that was a fine defensive struggle.
