Who gets cut for Tank?

With the play of Wilcox and Church and Jones

I'd Frazier makes sense, but if also could be the back Olinemen if Smith is healthy.

I don't think it will be Rod Smith, he might be a "FB" in name, but he clearly is here just for ST, not sure why everyone is trying to run him off. He serves a purpose.

Rod Smith is here for ST play. Think he is quite safe. Between his brother and Zeke he has some team ties that bode well for him.
He can play RB/FB but mostly is just a pure ST guy.

Keith is a real FB and we are utilizing him a bit. And he also helps on ST.

The 2 FB thing is pretty overblown. Unless we see another ST brought in I doubt that group changes though Hanna could be in play there.

I'd think candidates are:
Darius Jackson--4th RB even with DMC off roster
Last OL--We brought a guy in for TSmith absence but if he really is close to a return and with Leary playing lights out we could go lighter on OL.
Damien Wilson--hasn't ascended to playing time status. even on a weakened group
Kavon Frazier--well behind others at safety.
Escobar--his rope is because out
Last DL--not sure we have 6 good ones much less 8 or 9. obviously with a DE coming in a straight up swap makes sense. Especially for a DE since we felt we had to move TC98 out to DE.

I think one of the defensive ends will be cut to make room. We are already long at the position in terms of numbers.

Do we not have a open spot? We IR La'El and Tapper then only signed the swing OT, right?

Seems like it was a rumor that they placed La'El on IR. Looking at our team transactions, there's no indication he went to IR.

I watched mayowa yesterday on the first couple of drives. Bet the raiders are still snickering over this signing
Did the Raiders get compensated? If not, why would they snicker?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I though I saw OL Collins listed as inactive for SF. So, that would mean he hasn't been placed on IR yet. Which is a good thing. Maybe they are giving him two weeks of rest and will see how much progress he makes. Maybe they won't need to IR him. That would be nice.

Someone has to go. My thoughts:

1. Wilber. He contributes very little and Nzeocha should be back this week to take his spot

2. Frazier. With Wilcox actually playing well, Frazier can go to the PS. Doubt anyone would snag him

3. Mayowa. I know this will never happen but dude is a bust. Can't see him getting many snaps going forward. If T Crawford stays at end he is behind him, tank, Irving, and Davis. Again; won't happen by might should

Mayowa a bust? I forgot he was a first rounder

Every time I focused on mayowa he was getting smacked around badly. He wasn't even close to serviceable.

I know the Cowboys value Wilber for some reason but he would be the first to go as far as I am concerned. I would hate to see Frazier go because he could be the future SS and Church is a FA after the season. Rod Smith is the most likely candidate since Keith Smith has looked good as a FB. Damien Wilson could be a cut. Cleary if they feel that Smith is ready to get back on the field.

I do think we need to start looking hard for a trade partner for McFadden.

Wilbur is able to play both LB and DE, and also is a main contributor on special teams. He's not going anywhere.

He is able to play poorly at LB and DE and is not that great of a ST player. You hardly ever see him involved on a ST tackle.

They were waiting for a second opinion but they need to put him on the IR-DTR, they already wasted a week

Otherwise just cut RSmith, they need all the DL rotation guys they can get
