Who gets released for PS call ups?

I know he is, but I’m having a really hard time accepting Maher is on the roster. I feel like I’m experiencing the true definition of denial.

I think if you have 7 inactive instead of 5 you don’t have to put someone down to the PS.

Do you know the salary implications on these "non-elevation" additions to the roster?

I'd assume they would get a game day check reflecting the minimum for their experience rather than the PS pay -- but the language around them not being elevated throws that into question.

he earns the prorated minimum salary for a player with his years of experience. So a rookie called up to the active roster ahead of a game would see his pay increased from $11,500 to over $39,000. A player with seven-plus years of experience would earn over $62K.

Since the practice squad counts against the salary cap, the callup increase of salary would impact it as well. Relatively minor increase but over time it does add up and eat into rollover.

Thanks everyone! I saw the DC.com article after I set the post on how it works...

I do wonder how they'll work things long term though assuming there are no injuries...
