Oh yeah, NE has won like 80% of their games over the past 6 years or so. That might be it.

Why are they any better than Dallas?
This era of the NFL is very much "what have you done for me lately". Each season is almost a toss up and success from even the previous season can be discounted somewhat.joseephuss;1702771 said:Exactly. The comparison is not being made based solely on this current season. If it were then both teams would be pretty equal. New England has the advantage because of their past success, which is pretty recent. They were in the AFC championship game and very close to winning. Dallas meanwhile stumbled into the playoffs and lost in the wildcard round.

What if B team beats A team who is 5-0 but has not played anybody, does that mean that B team still has not played anybody?
You play whoever is on the schedule and that is about all you can do and then make a judgement call on how well your team has played.

NE whether you like it or not is the default dynasty - hopefully dynasty in decline. in a what have you done for me lately we're a decade behind and coming up strong in the fast lane sure -
- but we've not won anything of consequence as of yet, have we?
no.
*IF* we beat NE then we're a step closer. But we're still not there till we make some valid noise in the playoffs. Till then people will dog us, berate us, bayless us to death. IT'S GONNA HAPPEN. getting mad at them for being who they are is as much a waste of time as screaming at the wind for blowing.
i don't want anyone to hand us anything - i want this team to EARN it and then no matter what is said it just doesn't mean anything because we've got our own skins to point to

and the one common opponent we have, they destroyed and we needed a miracle

When you haven't won in a while, and you have a new coaching staff, people will tend to reserve judgement until they show they are competitive with a recently "good" team.
If the Cowboys lose to NE, but it is a good game...they will get all of the accolades most Cowboys fans are looking for.
Personally, I prefer being under the radar, underrated, win some close ones but they were hard fought. Although there is nothing wrong with a blowout either...
