Just curious. I don't expect our team to be at full strength this Sunday. Hopefully the Giants will be at less fuller strength.

Our O-line won't be at full strength but should be heavily improved over last year even if Waters doesn't play. Also, keep in mind, Leary and Frederick are essentially rookies and will only get better as the season progresses.

The secondary is a little banged up. Matt Johnson (who I was looking forward to watching this season) is done. Wilcox showed potential but is way too raw and probably won't get significant playing time until late in the season. And Claiborne has been out all preseason so he'll likely be pretty rusty and might only play limited snaps.

The offensive skill positions are extremely healthy, as is Romo. And, unlike last year, the linebackers (possibly the strongest facet of our entire team) is 100% and ready to roll.

My main concern is with the D-line. In my opinion, we are completely decimated. Ware and Hatcher are healthy and they are really our only reliable veteran players. Even if Ware and Hatcher play every snap, the other two starting spots will be a rotation of street free agent Selvie and newly acquired CFL star Rayford at DE, and lifetime bench warmer Hayden and last year's UDFA Bass at DT. We are incredibly weak on D-line with Ratliff out for 6 games (maybe more), Spencer out for likely the first few weeks, and Crawford out for the entire season. The only way we miss the playoffs is if our D-line causes us to get off on a slow start this season.

Does not matter to me, I don't pull for other teams to be injured. For Dallas to become the team they need to be they have to be able to beat a team at it's best. I don't shed a tear over the Giants injuries or any other teams injury just as they don't care about ours but I would just as soon beat a team with their best in the lineup.

That's all great in theory, but that's why we missed the playoffs last year. We were playing with no center and 4th stringers making up our linebacking corps. I'm not wishing for injuries for the Giants (though I wouldn't mind), but I'm just curious to know where we stand. With our D-line, I think we would get destroyed by a healthy offense. In a few weeks, I think we can compete with anyone.

The Giants, by far. They've lost some on their OL as well as their back up RB (Brown). Their best Defensive player will likely be out (JPP) their second best Def player is out for the season (Stevie Brown).

Our only starter thats ruled out is Ratliff. Maybe Spencer.

I understand injuries hurt us last season but the reality is if you can't beat quality teams you are going to a SB or doing anything in the playoffs should you get there. Our D line is not bad with the starters right now and backups they are not going to be playing an entire qrt or half as they did in pre season and yes they are good enough to come in and give a breather to the starters. Dallas has some minor injuries right now but I'm very comfortable with the starting unit on defense.

That little nerdy guy on ESPN (I forget his name... he was in the "Hey mom, I'm done with my segment" commercial) said that JPP likely will play and Spencer likely won't play. It was reported about 20 mins ago on ESPN.

It's about even on injuries, but the starting lineup in Dallas is superior to the Giants on both sides of the ball. Their defense and secondary is atrotious, Tuck is old, Umenyiora is gone, and JPP won't play or will have to do so with a back injury. Dallas should go up and down the field (though I wish Waters was ready).

I'm concerned about stopping them because I haven't seen our pass rush, especially without Spencer. If we get a pass rush against their patchwork defensive line, the Giants will fold like a lawn chair.

My gut is both will play, but only for about 20 snaps each.

JPP has a back issue. He may not be the same player. Maybe ever.

Brown isn't their second best defensive player.... He was a flash in the pan last year, he would have eventually lost that job to the rookie they drafted Taylor Mayes anyway

That sucks for him. He went to my high school. Nice guy. I noticed he had a huge drop off in production last year. He has/had JJ Watt potential.

I think we may see Carter coming in quite a bit on the pass rush, Dallas and Kiffin have kept things pretty vanilla but I think Carter and at time Lee will bring the pressure up the middle.

It doesn't really matter... NFC East division games are unpredictable. You throw out records, stats, everything and it's anybody's game.

The quality of their starting linebackers makes me laugh a little. Okay, a lot.

I thought was practicing.
Really, we our missing our best interior Dlineman and possibly a pro bowl DE....plus our top rotational lineman (Crawford).
They are missing one of their best secondary players, a so-so Olineman, and a backup RB.

I'd say it's wash if JPP plays.

What makes Lee a difference maker? Is he 1/2 Asian 1/2 white? He doesn't look that fearsome or imposing - but the defense does seem stronger with him there.

He is not little, he studies extremely hard. Even when Ryan was here he talked of Lee as being a coach on the field type player.

Carter is the guy I really expect to see take it to another level this season.
