Who do you think will have the best chance for being Dak this year (beyond Dak)?
Experienced QB in big conference but overlooked due to system?

Mitch Trubisky North Carolina rJr 6-3 220 round 1 - no
DeShone Kizer Notre Dame rSo 6-4 230 round 1 - no
Deshaun Watson Clemson Jr 6-2 215 round 1-2 - no
Patrick Mahomes II Texas Tech Jr 6-2 229 round 2-3 - shooting up?
Brad Kaaya Miami (Fla.) Jr 6-4 210 round 3 - may be?
Nathan Peterman Pittsburgh Sr 6-2 225 round 4
Davis Webb California Sr 6-5 229 round 4-5
Jerod Evans Virginia Tech Jr 6-2 238 round 5-6
Chad Kelly Ole Miss Sr 6-2 224 round 6 - interesting

Mahomes is shooting up already?
Kaaya may be?
Chad Kelly is interesting but personality a big issue?

None of them. I honestly don't see anyone that has much of a chance to do it.

Dak was special in a lot of ways... not just overlooked.

Most of those guys are just overlooked.

Dakota Prukop of Oregon. If you squint, his name is practically Dak Prescott. ;)

More seriously, Mahomes, though I don't expect him to really qualify as overlooked after the combine.

Likely nobody, but the day 3 guy for me is Sefo Liufau of Colorado. Very experienced. Took over as a true freshman. Efficient throwing motion with good short to intermediate accuracy and above average power. Able to hit guys going away from him. Has some pocket awareness. Mobile enough to keep defense honest but not a running QB per se. Able to keep his eyes downfield despite pressure. Not timid.

Very up and down passer though. Some games he's on. Some he's way off. Never seemed to take the next step after an intriguing Sophomore year. Long ball is often too late and WR has to wait around for it. Similarly inexperienced to Dak under center or moving through progressions. Didn't seem to impress at Senior Bowl practices.

Seeing that almost no rookie has had a year like Dak did, efficiency-wise, the clear answer is nobody.

Also, there are no teams (nor ever have been) that plan to start a rookie that will have 1) an oline chock full of pro bowlers and 2) the league's leading rusher.... to go with two pro bowl level receivers (WR/TE) and a decent supporting WRs.

Theres just no situation that good, nor has there been, nor will there be one again anytime soon.
All of that and theyd still have to perform at a very high level like Dak did.

Any comps will be apples and oranges from the start....and good luck matching Dak's rookie year even if all else WAS equal!

Some people are jumping on the Davis Webb bandwagon. I don't see it.

I saw all of Webb for 2 years and No, I don't see it.

To be fair Tech did have Mayfield, Brewer, Mahomes, and Webb at one time. Pretty amazing actually. The other 3 went onto nice seasons at VT, Cal, and OU.

I don't see one. I see a weak QB class for the most part. Thank goodness we found our future and can look at other areas in this draft.

I think that Nathan Peterman ends up being the best QB in this class when it's all said and done. He won't be drafted the highest, but I think he has the best career.

I think Mahomes is going to be the big disappointment in this draft.

I don't trust QBs that come from these wide open, air raid type offenses.
