Who is getting more snaps now with Jaylon Smith gone

LVE may get the message see if his game goes up a notch. It’s doubtful he’s back in 2022 over $.

There is absolutely a spot for LVE in this defense if he can play well this year and stay healthy. The cowboys just weren't going to make him one of the top paid LBs in 2022 by picking up his 5th year option. He can be signed for much less.

Quinn talked about the LVE-Parsons pairing and saying he liked what he saw. Also, Neal will be back and I assume Cox may get some snaps too.
And then we may just use more big nickel packages with 3 safeties.

I think the biggest thing about his option was that it was fully guaranteed the second it was exercised. A lot of money to be stuck on the books if he got hurt again and his value dropped to -.

If he is going to sign for under 10m AAV, he could be back. They might be willing to do that if they have outs like they did with Lee's 2nd contract

Kearse and Wilson will get those snaps. I think in the nickel the Cowboys will go with 3 safeties with Parsons rushing the quarterback. Kearse’s play I believe is the reason they have moved on from Jaylon.

Yes, the Defense has just become more flexible and more dynamic.

With his injury history and that neck issue, nobody is going to throw big guaranteed contracts his way. Heck, there is good possibility Dallas moves on and they know him best.

LVE can be flexed between both OLB and MLB

Some keep talking about having safeties as linebackers but I don't like that set on obvious 1st and 2nd down situations.
I like safeties as " extra" man in the box but not as every down players at LB

If I'm an OC with any kind worth run game
I'm pounding linemen vs those safeties as much as possible.

We have played Tampa, Philly, SD, and the Panthers minus Christian McCaffrey. So, we haven't had to face a good rb yet. When we finally play a team that can run the ball, that's going to be the first real test of this defense. Our run defense killed us last year. Its nice playing a 6-10 schedule.

56%? You sure that’s correct? He only had 14 snaps in the opener.
