who is number 38?

My 5 year old daughter just stiff armed this thread into the dirt. She has really good technique though.

Hopefully Roy has his confidence back and plays with the same wreckless abandon that he use to.

Right, cause all the great safeties throughout history were never stiff armed.

good one...

But Roy's play never really regressed as far as it concerns hitting, say the homers, so why are the homer's so keen on showing how he has improved in hitting?

What does hitting have to do with the pass coverage the homer's have always been saying Roy always lacked in?

Is being a homer a bad thing? I love being a homer for my Cowboys but why is it considered a bad thing?

IDK i guess it has something to do with being objective however what they don't realize is that in their attempts to be objective they are just out of perspective on the cowboys.

I think you can be both. I maen I love the Cowboys but I will get on them when there are doing well but I won't bury them. Anyway thanks for answering, that has always puzzled me when guys say your a homer. I thought we all are supposed to be homers for the Cowboys but when your not objective I can see why folks would have a problem with that.

all you roy haters are funny.. you guys hated the guy and now wanna jump back on his bandwagon? :lmao2:

Just noticed, I saw a TON of ankle biting in this video.

A lot turned out to be big hits, but he wrapped up 2 out of every 8 tackles it looked like.

better than the 1 out of 10 he's trying to pull off in the NFL. he sured did look quick and light on his feet back then.

To be fair, it's not like we haven't already had 3 preseason games. No one is overreacting in the opposite direction, or anything.

What I'm really looking forward to is the big 'my bad' thread about Roy in week 3 or 4. Right after whatever week he gets his first big game-changing hit. Of course, this assumes no stiff-arms occur between now and then and no announcer mention Roys name in coverage associated with a reception by a TE for any reason at any point in any game. I'm hoping for some pictures of crows baked in pies, or on spits, with people saying things like how happy they are to have been wrong, and how glad they are that the old Roy is 'back.' It must have been the number change; I don't care what it was as long as we have the Old Roy back. That'll be awesome.

Then we can finally move on to some threads about how Wade needs to be fired because he didn't let Pacman work on such-and-such return team, or because he did and Pacman got hurt or it should have been Felix. And what the heck is the deal with Bruce Read anyway?

They won't say jack, all of em will act like it never happened, and move on to something else.

But Roy was never playing bad in the first place for him to start playing this year like he did his first two years...

He was never as bad as you guys made him out, he couldn't cover coming out of college and that will never change.

The point of all of it is he never played nearly as badly as you all said he did, very little will have to change for you guys to change your tunes, and you will see it as some light bulb went off for roy. The truth is he was and continues to be a heck of a football player, the only thing that will change is whether he is the flavor of the month or not.

You roy haters just like to exaggerate all his flaws, kinda like you exaggerate everything his supporters say to fit your agenda.

But this thread is about how he is actually hitting and intimidating players, isn't it? As I said before:

What does hitting have to do with the pass coverage the homer's have always been saying Roy always lacked in?

Why are the Roy defenders jumping on threads about how Roy has returned to his old self, the old self that is an intimidating force on the field, but the player that has never been that great in pass coverage?

Take note:

Roy changed his number and changed his off-season program to play better. Even Roy realized his play deteriorated...

Good for the Cowboy fans, whether they defended Roy or hated on Roy previously for his deteriorating play...

You wanna know what I really think about the roy thing, the entire thing is because our defense has improved markedly and Roy isn't the best player on the field anymore.

It confused people into thinking he sucked because every position around him improved appreciably.

It had very little to do with Roy, other than he was the best part of our defense for a couple years, and then he wasn't.

I look at it as if Roy is the worst player we have on defense then our defense is freaking STACKED and that alone makes me smile

My opinion is the following:

All I know is the Roy of old use to make players like Shockey and Toomer drop balls looking Roy's way when Roy wasn't anywhere near them... That has nothing to do with the defense becoming more stacked and everything to do with Roy putting a hurting on people in the past and intimidating them...

I don't care if he gets beat once in awhile, because all players do...

can't see the forest for the trees, roy doesn't need to be that guy with this team around him, why on earth wouldn't his role change as the talent around him changes? Of course he is gonna be flying around the field making plays when the people around him can't make them.
