Who is on your first round radar right now

Some of the guys I am looking at.

DT:
Mazi Smith. Excellent size athleticism combination

Keanu Benton. Reminds be alot of Daron Payne. 320 lbs(well 315, but he'll probably play at 320 in NFL) that anchors like a 340 pounder due to incredible strength. Started showing some pass down ability this year

Gervon Dexter. Big 6'6 315 pound 3T. Still has some work to do, but there is alot of versatility there. Better player right now than Odighizuwa

CB:

Kelee Ringo. My main CB target right now. Others to consider here, but right now he seems to be the best thats mocked in our range. Excellent size and athleticism. Battle hardened in the SEC

Skill:

Jordan Addison( WR). Excellent route runner. Could be a poor mans Devonte Smith

Jamyr Gibbs(HB). I rarely consider HB's in the first, but Gibbs is a one man offense. He could probably play WR in the NFL

Michael Mayer(TE). Stud TE. He would walk in a significant improvement over Shultz. And I like Shultz

I don't have any OL yet. Im looking for more OG's, and Im not well versed in who the top 30 caliber talent there is yet

BPA. You can make a case for just about any spot on the radar.

I’d be fine with OL, DL, LBr, WR, CB and Safety.

What do you think about drafting Gibbs in the first. Im not a HB in the 1st guy, but he adds so many different aspects to your offense

DT - Bryan Bresee; maybe Ika
CB - Joey Porter, Jr.; Christian Gonzalez; Kelee Ringo, Cam Smith
OL - Paris Johnson, Broderick Jones

I can see Bresee and Porter being gone, but I think Ika is in play. I don't recall him being as dominate as Vea was his final college season, so, I could see him slide.
I think the general belief is that he will be in our range. Its my personal belief that he wont be. I see him getting over drafted because team may squint and see Vea

I don't think ANY of the stereotype 1T/NT types are locks to go Round 1 becuase I'm not sure if anyone views the 3 you mentioned as "special" enough.

DT is what a good GM and front office would do.

but Jerry will probably go receiver ...... either TE or WR

I wouldnt do this because he needs a lot of development and I dont think he gets it here, but I would not be shocked if Anthony Richardson was there, they thought long and hard about it.

We are pretty light inside right now. They tried to trade Gallimore during the season, and I doubt he is in their 2023 plans. Watkins and Hankins are both expiring contracts. Also I think if they had a high opinion of Bohanna, they dont make the Hankins trade. Im not saying they will, but I think there is a good possibility they address the interior DL early in the draft

I dont think he is a first round pick. They usually dont get cute with FRP's

i feel DB or Edge rusher will be best defensive player available and WR will be best available on offense. Wouldn't mind going edge rusher and having Parsons go back to linebacker. We are wearing him down fast

1st Round
CB - Joey Porter Jr - if he has the 4.3 speed I am expecting.
RB - BRobinson - only if Pollard doesn't resign, and Jerry has decided to get rid of Zeke after June 1.
TE - Mayer - only if Schultz isn't resigned
DL - Bresee , Carter, and if all others gone Ika --- BEST IDEA, but most DT aren't 1st round projected.
LB - I am very curious about Andre Carter II, and if he is the unicorn I am thinking he might be who could move from OLB to MLB and be that run stopping - partner to Parsons who has rush the passer skills as well as he would have the size and length to man the middle zone.
WR - definitely need one or two, but you have a #1 in CD and need speed/quickness guys for #2 and #3, and they can be 2-5 rounders.
OL - is rounds 3-5 for me.
QB - round 5-7 for me
S - sign the current ones

Way to early, but these are the guys I am looking at in the first round --- at least before the combine changes my mind.

So many variables here. The Cowboys are picking in the 25 range so hard to nail down who will be there. The Cowboys also have a bunch of free agents so that will dictate the team's draft needs.

WR - The team seems really low on Tolbert (rather quickly) and they pursued TY Hilton and Odel Beckham, Jr. late in the season. There could be some guys available that would instantly improve the roster:
Jordan Addison, USC (Fight On!) He reminds me of Justin Jefferson. He's a baller but also an elite route runner with great hands. He can play any of the WR spots.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State Every time I watch him play, I just see a bundle of athleticism and strength. He attacks the ball like Steve Smith. I think he will only get obeyer on the pro's.
Jalen Hyatt, Tennesee Speaking of TY Hilton, that's who I see when I watch Hyatt. He is a constant deep threat

TE - I like the collection of guys the team has behind Schultz, but Schultz is a free agent, and a constant security blanket for Dak. If he's gone and the following player is somehow available, you'd have to consider it:
Michael Mayer, TE Notre Dame Was a star at Notre Dame from day one. He's a constant mismatch (too big for DB's, too athletic for LB's) and is already a much better blocker than Schultz.

OL - You have to consider it here. McGovern is a free agent, Steele is restricted and coming off an injury, Tyron's career is winding down.
O'Cyrus Torrance, Florida , Darnel Wright, Tennessee, and Broderick Jones, Georgia may be within reach. I could see the Cowboys FO wanting to be clever and falling in love with a guy like Maryland tackle Jaelyn Duncan (6'6", 320)

DE - Like my USC bias, my Army bias may be on display here, but I absolutely love the potential of:
Andre Carter II, Army He's 6'6" with a 6'10" wingspan and freakish change of direction quickness. He's still raw so the 1st round may be rich for him, but I think could be a more athletic Maxx Crosby.

CB - IMO our biggest need. Whoever is opposite of Trevon Diggs is going to be tested so the team should do everything they can to find a competent starter on the other side. The problem is that elite Corners go early. Here's some guys currently in the 1st round conversation:
Cam Smith, South Carolina - Love how competitive he is. Probably long gone before Cowboys pick.
Kelee Ringo, Georgia He's a more athletic Trevon Diggs. I say that meaning he gambles so much. He's an elite athlete but he has some deficiencies in his technique.
Christian Gonzales, Oregon He grew on me this year. Faster than I thought he was, he just looked smooth and confident out there.
Joey Porter, Jr. Penn State Yes, you are getting old.
Clark Phillips, Jr. Utah Like Smith, he will compete on every snap. His lack of size is going to factor into some team's positional thresholds.
Antonio Johnson, Texas A&M Opposite of Phillips, he has size for days. 6'3" and long arms, Dan Quinn may fall in love with him. Not physical but agile enough to pattern match and then uses length to close in and make plays.

The Cowboys historically live and die by the running game.
There is no offensive player in this draft that would have the impact Bijan Robinson would.
