Who is our #3 receiver now?

I just read that Hurd is cleared to practice and could potentially play on Sunday. So, who is our #3 receiver? Is it Hurd or Austin? It seems to me that they should keep Austin in there. I like Hurd a lot and he has pretty good hands, but he doesn't have much speed. He seems like a skinnier Crayton to me.

Its Miles...who is going to become 2b pretty quick if he plays many more games like he did last night.

...I don't have a link. But Hurd isn't going to step in after one week of practice and take touches away from Miles after the other night.

Until the coaches say that I'm not inclined to believe it.

The depth chart, especially at WR, doesn't mean diddly.

Whose our #4 corner, Jenkins or Scandrick?

I think all three of them will rotate opposite of TO, with Crayton still getting the most snaps and being the most reliable.

Miles has consistently gotten open deep for the last 2 years. The only problem was not getting the ball thrown to him. Well guess what? That's changed. Romo knows he can throw to him now and therefore he provides the deep threat that Hurd could never provide. Hurd is another Crayton and therefore Austin is the #2-3 receiver.... not Hurd. But he is still a good kid. I'm not knocking him, just pointing out realities.

I think Austin has already made himself too valuable to fall down the depth chart. If anything, the coaches have be wondering how to get him more looks, not less. So I definitely think he's supplanted Hurd as the third guy.

He's everything we want in a complement to TO, at least in terms of physical skill set. He's fast, tall, explosive, can catch. Crayton and Hurd don't stretch the field nearly as well.

Defenses suddenly have to respect Austin after what he did last week. Not to the level of giving him too much attention, but his presence, you would think, could actually help free up TO and Witten. I mean, you know the Skins will be thinking, "Hmmm." when they see him on the field. That's something that will never, ever, ever happen with Crayton or Hurd.

I hope and pray (ok, not pray) that Austin can develop into a No. 2. Because I truly believe Crayton, an average No. 2, is among the league's best slot guys. And as has been stated in this thread, I see Hurd as a poor man's Crayton. Which, hey, as maligned as Crayton is these days, is nothing to sneeze at. He's a quality NFL player. You'd just like some more explosiveness out of the No. 2.

I was shocked Miles got run down Sunday night on that first long pass ... I wonder if his knee is 100 percent yet ...

Just OT, it seems to me Miles isn't a guy to be run down if he's healthy ...

I think you're right. Also, in his postgame speech, he noted that he learned he should have taken a better angle to the end zone. He caught it and cut his angle and started running parallel to the sideline essentially, helping the safety, who had the angle, to catch up. Had Austin ran toward the pylon, he probably would have gotten in.

I disagree - Austin was pushing Hurd for #3 in preseason.

Austin has made more big plays in the receiving game than Hurd despite playing about 90% less reps. He is just a much better player than Hurd and we certainly don't owe Hurd the loyalty you are suggesting. Open your eyes - Hurd can't get separation and will not amount to anything other than a ST player and #4/5 WR.

Austin wasn't getting a lot of separation either open your eyes....Austin was pushing Hurd hard and had a hell of a preseason and before Austin went down Hurd was still ahead of him him....
