depends on who's rating and how, if you go by pure talent and ability, have to think Moss and Fitzgerald and CJ are > Rice. If you go by production, obviously it was Rice.
I think if Moss plays his career with HoF QBs like Rice did, Moss's #s would've smoked Rice's easily.
Kinda like who was the greatest RB…..Emmitt's argument is epic "I just just have the most yards, the most rings, and the hottest wife".

I'm sorry, but as talented as Randy Moss was, I can't rank him No. 2. He didn't like to run across the middle. Imagine if he had augmented his game running both deep routes and across-the-middle routes?
And I think he gave up on too many routes. I'm convinced had Randy Moss kept running on that last pass Brady threw in the first Pats-Giants Super Bowl, the Pats would have won. If you look at the play, it looks as if he gave up. Maybe I'm reading something more into the play, but that's the perception I have - which seems to fit.
But deciding who is the second best receiver? I can't say, but I'm surprised Cris Carter hasn't been mentioned to this point.

I agree.... I love Randy, awesome player, mooning the fans, straight cash homey...... but he didn't leave it on the field all the time...
#1 all time talent, but Rice was the best, period.......

#2 is close between Carter, Irvin, Harrison....... I didn't see lance all worth, but Wes Chandler was a beast when with the Chargers..... sleepers are Reed & Lofton..

Megatron is coming for #2........

Randy Moss.

Randy Moss was the most explosive WR in history and he's by far been the greatest deep threat to ever play the game. I'd say he's the only WR that can single handedly dominate games and triple coverage, or at least to the extreme extent that he does.

Moss definitely did "quit" on plays, but you're being foolish if you don't think Irvin, Carter, Rice, or any other WRs did the same. Maybe not to the extent of Moss, but you can't tell me those guys didn't take off on some plays. Moss's passion/emotion was very similar to Dez's in that he wanted to win so much, so when they were losing, there were times he wouldn't handle it very well. Walking into the locker room a minute before the game ended, mentally checking out of plays, ect;

Moss was one of the most respected players by his peers and coaches around the league. As much of a "cancer" some are saying he was, his teammate have nothing but great things to say about what an outstanding guy he is in the locker room. He's been one of the most misunderstood players in the NFL, mainly due to the media twisting everything he says and the fans buying into it. His "I play when I want to play" quote is a classic example of this, if you seen the interview, it was not negative.

"Moss is a cancer", "Won't go over the middle", "He's a selfish guy", "He doesn't block", "He's one dimensional",
are all completely false.

I wish we had him as a Cowboy, Straight Cash, Homie.

It's Hutson and it's not even close.

Randy Moss...did anyone even see him with the Raiders. I'd take Fitz over him.

Take away the injuries and I would take Irvin and Sterling Sharpe over him.

Randy Moss is a tall Desean Jackson. No?

Moss was an incredible deep threat but so was Hayes.

Marvin Harrison is not in the top 10 in my opinion. He completely disappeared in the playoffs. He played in 16 playoff games, but only has 2 career playoff TDs and both of those came in the same wildcard game. The deeper the team got in the playoffs, the less he produced. It doesn't offset everything he accomplished in the regular season, but it keeps him out of the top ten in my opinion.

If its between owens and moss i go owens. He made the big plays as well and was also a complete reciever. Cross routes, great downfield blocker.

Don Hutson. What he did compared to what everyone else of his era was doing is insane.

In all seriousness, I think Hines Ward, Anquan Boldin and Steve Smith are 3 wideouts I'd rather have on my team than many (probably most) of the names mentioned in greatest-WRs-of-all-time debates.
