Now that the defensive coordinator is settled, my focus is on the offensive side. Callahan was/is the OC but I imagine that will change and Lineham is the passing game/play caller guy. Does he gain the OC title now or is he just going to call plays?

Is Garrett renamed the offensive coordinator or is all three going to give their input equally?

I realize it is a collaborative effort but who is the guy on offense that has final say now?

Callahan can't retain that title while focusing on the line, can he?

I am so confused as to who has what exact roles and titles now. There seems to be way too many chiefs :(

From what I gather.......................
Garrett is still using his scheme and Lineham will call plays from that, hopefully, diversifying the route trees and balance. Callahan will focus on the offensive line. Again, who has the final say so on offense and who will hold the OC title(not that it matters)?

I am hoping Lineham will be allowed to bring some of his own plays and not be restricted to what Garrett wants and thinks. Trying to find the positives here hoping it is not just re-arranging of the chairs with the same results.

This is so pathetic. ..even if they actually come up with something everyone is going to say..it takes three of dallas vs one. Omg..its no wonder teams dont take us serious anymore

You thought they had trouble getting the play off before the play called expired before..... now they have to through a sophisticated if-then-else call playing tree where different coaches (JG, Callahan, Linehan) make the call depending on what is going on in the field. They'll need a full time arbitrator to help remediate each call...

;)

Is it really that complicated? Especially under an offensive HC. I think we know who's calling shots. This is really just another thing to complain about, right?

Honestly Idgit, I don't know what is calling the shots. Please illuminate me.

The Cowboys have hired a team of website designers. They are implementing a real-time system where the fans can vote on each play to be called. Each fan has 5 seconds after the last play to vote. The results of the vote are sent directly into to Garrett and he will relay it to Romo. They wanted to send it directly to Romo but the NFL wouldn't allow it.

Fans vote on challenges. Garrett will be required to throw the challenge flag based on the fan voting.

Each fans voting history will be analyzed as good or bad. Once a fans voting records go below 50%, they will suspend that fans ability to vote.

Once all the bugs are worked out, Jerry is going to sell the system to other owners. Eventually he'll sell it to other sports.

Phase Two will replace the refs with a fan voting system. Fans least affected by a particular game will be selected to vote on that game. For example, a game between 2 NFC teams can only be voted on by AFC team fans. There will be a complex algorithm to determine who can vote on each game and only Goodell will know the exact formula. Voters can be banned or fined by Goodell for any reason.

Offensively? It's Jason Garrett.

Play calling will be done by the same committee approach we've used all along. This year, Linehan will be the one relaying them to Tony Romo.

I presume that by "all along" you mean the last third of the 2013 season?

Linehan is calling plays. He is actually good at that. Callahan was retained because he does a good job with the OL. He is demoted but retains his oc title.

I recall Parcells talked about how assistants felt they needed certain titles but they were otherwise meaningless.
