Last week the Cowboys played great and lost. This week they played like crap at times but won in the end. Who are they?

Looks like typical Cowboy football to me.

Rollercoaster football from week to week.

The same team as last week except they didn't turn the ball over three times in the fourth quarter.

They were decimated with injuries and had to play two straight road games on both coasts.

It was really unrealistic to expect us to blow the doors off of san fran, who could end up being a good team for all we know.

I know. They will not turn out to be a good team this year.

I bet they win at least 9 games and their division

A passing team. With a Mad Man running the defense. And a decent ST's coach that won't ever call for the punt block.

They play in the worst division in football by a lot. So that doesn't mean much to me if it would happen.

It'll take more than nine to win the division. I think the Iggles could end up with 11 wins. A wild card berth is more realistic for Dallas.

Thanks Nostradamus.

I think it depends on Alex Smith. He has always had a lot of ability and he played pretty well today despite pressure from the front 7.

They have a good defense, good special teams and potentially a good running game.

I think they are .500 team and challenge StL for the division.

He was talking about SF.

I don't know how good we are going to be this year but we are already looking better than we did at any point last year.

I think the two big unknowns for us right now is how good our secondary will be when everyone is back and healthy. I was worried about our run defense and our ability to apply pressure at the start of the year but I'm not too worried about those things anymore. The run D is much better with the new DEs playing worlds better and Sean Lee destroying the RBs. Ryan's schemes are causing more confusion which is allowing better pressure and causing the QBs to hold onto the ball a bit longer.

On offense, the key is still our OL. In the first two games they have been bad at run blocking and below average in pass blocking.

The other big thing right now is health - we don't have any. Chances are it evens out over the year so hopefully we are going through our bad stretch right now.

I'm upgrading my outlook again to 9-7 now.

You think it depends on Alex Smith and they're a .500 team that will challenge St. Louis for the division?

Thanks, Nostradamus.

I can't be that far off calling them .500. I can't be anymore than 7 games off as they'll finish with a record between 1-15 and 15-1. :D

This doesn't change who we are. In fact, I think it has to be at least a little bit concerning that it took OT to beat the lowly 49ers. This is still a 7 or 8 win squad. The OL and the defense is a concern, and now injuries to basically every skill position on offense.

They'll compete for the division although that's not too hard. Smith is improved. They have a good OL. They have a decent running game. They have some skill players. There DL plays over their head. They have good LBs. Their secondary is ok. STs are a plus and they can punt and kick the ball well.

Harbaugh is a rookie coach but has been around the block.

They will likely win more than they lose and could surprise people. I don't get all the niner hate other than we hate them in general. That doesn't mean we can't appreciate their talent.
