Who is this Year's Surprise Cut?

Drew Shelton.

The surprise will be the Cowboys admitting their mistake.
:hammer: I think they will ride with Thomas as the swing.....Hell...Wouldn't shock me if all 3 of the 4th rounders get the ax.....None of them has really impressed.

I just don't see it. Because of his injury they knew he needed a year in the weight room. Now he will have a whole year to get ready for RT next year. 4th round OT's typically aren't draft and play. That's why they are day 3 picks.

Id say Bullard.

At the practice on Tuesday he was the only player I saw that didnt practice. Overshown was off doing his own warm up/stretching while the team did its thing. But he did practice with the team.

Havent heard a word about Bullard in camp. He hasnt played PS. He wasnt in the practice I saw.

And since most have him making the roster, it would be a suprise.

Barron as well. Hes not a very physical guy. I was high on him but I think there are better options if they decide to go 5 deep at ILB.

Williams is obvious.

Maybe Mingo.

To me, Mingo and Williams are the two guys who may get you something in a player swap.

Maybe Bell as well but Schotty seems to really like him. But he could also maybe get you more in return. Especially since they have Clark.

I feel like Bullard is gonna get IR'd.

Agreed, I think we either cut him or maybe we can get a 7 for him? If someone offers us a 7 for him, I'm taking it and running.
There's 2-3 guys that I think DAL can package (maybe together) for some lower round picks maybe

Schoonmaker
Williams
Turpin (to sweeten the deal)

Maybe to KC?

KC needs depth at TE, WR, DE

AND they have an extra 3rd Rd pick next year from the McDuffie trade.

Id be okay with dealing Williams and Schoonmacher for a 3

People are acting like Mingo is better than Brown just because he's made a few catches and barely stopped someone from returning a fumble all the way back instead of just 50 yards. Yeah, he had the long td catch from Milton but he beat a backup on a nine route. Let's not forget this guy couldn't do jack except block for a year and a half since he's been here.
Blocking and special teams are so much more valuable at WR5 than a much lesser version of our top 3 WR’s.

Goal is to build a complete team, not a 7 on 7 squad. Blocking and ST’s beats inactive every day of the week and twice on Sunday’s.

Besides, we always overrate our UDFA WR’s. Camden’s had a great preseason but only two WR’s were claimed last year after cutdowns. The odds are much more in the favor of him getting to PS than getting picked up.

We act like the Cowboys are the only franchise that likes the guys they’ve scouted lol. Literally every team has a Camden Brown, a guy they scouted who they think can be something. Very rare that teams pick another franchises UDFA/late round stash over their own. It’s possible, but quite unlikely.

Also, why do people think Turpin will get cut LOL. Guy didn’t play a snap all preseason, that’s not how people on the roster bubble are handled.

We saw his speed is still there with that week 18 TD in Washington. As long as he still has wheels he makes the team. We don’t have anyone with speed like that in the WR room. Teams want their positions groups to have versatility and value all the way down to the last man on the roster.

Guy has 1300 scrimmage yards and 8 TD’s in his career here. Down year on ST or not, he still has made actual plays in the NFL against real first team defenses. He has traits and plays a role that the other guys don’t. Agree or not, but he’s a multi-time All-Pro, that has actual weight.

One down year as a returner, with no one nearly similar in speed and quickness, doesn’t make him a cut candidate. He’d have to have back to back poor seasons OR lose his speed to be cut as WR4.

I doubt the guy just forgot how to return kicks, was a crap year for a lot of guys in 2025. I saw him still have the burners vs WASH week 18, so as long as the speed remains so does Turpin. UNLESS, you have a replacement with the same skillset.

Fans concern with Turpin are purely fiction at this point, the team has done absolutely nothing to signify they are letting go of him. He doesn’t play in the preseason, he’s first on every depth chart as KR/PR, he gets a bunch of work with the 1’s in practice, and the coaches have said they value his role and place in the WR room multiple times.

At what point do you just accept Turpin is here to stay this season? What actual evidence do you have the team itself has soured on him?

Giants game.
Any reasons or signs from the actual team that you’ve seen point towards him not being on the roster?

I get fans soured on him a bit last season, but idk I feel like opinions are worth more when they consider the facts and evidence. They’ve done and said absolutely nothing that signifies Turpin not being here, literally not one thing.

Just don’t get why people feel like he’s on the outs when nothing the team has done shows that at all.

It’s not even that I’m in love with the player, I just don’t see anything pointing towards him being gone. If they do it’ll be an insane surprise, not impossible but highly unlikely.

No disrespect either btw

I think we would bring back Dak for the practice squad. No concern about him being poached by another team.
True. And as a veteran he doesn't have to worry about being claimed. Might want to stay in Dallas since he built a practice field there in his backyard.
