Since we only have like 4 days left to make this prediction...

QB:

Bledsoe
Romo

RB:

JuJo
MBIII
TyTho
Polite

WR:

TO
TG
Crayton
Hurd
Rector

TE:

Witten
Fasano
Hannam

OL:

Adams
Kosier
Gurode
Rivera
Columbo
McQ
Proctor
Al Johnson
Petitti

DL:

Spears
Ferguson
Canty
Ratliff
Hatcher
Thomas Johnson

*Note: I don't like our NG depth at all.

LB:

Ellis
Ayodele
James
Ware
Burnett
Hoyte
Carpenter
Singleton
Boiman

CB:

Newman
Henry
Glenn
Reeves
Jones

FS:

Davis
Watkins

SS:

Roy
Elam

ST:

Vandy
McBriar
Ladeucer (sp?)
Suisam (sucks, but I think we end up having to keep him)

That's actually 51 players. We could go with 10 OL, 6 WRs, 10 LBs, or 3 NGs, or possible 3 FSs (if we keep Coleman)... any combination of 2 of those. I'd go with Stanley and Coleman as my last two players. Coleman would only be insurance. He wouldn't dress on gamedays unless he was starting.

It's obvious BP has some tough decisions to make.

Good list. I agree with our lack of depth at NG, but I don't seem to recall BP even mentioning it. It will be interesting to see if any trades or roster moves brings us a backup NG.

I think we have to carry 6 WRs because the top 3 are all guys who've had injury problems. I mean what if during the second game of the season you have all 3 get knocked out of the game and Copper has already signed on somewhere else?

The thing is we wouldn't end up dressing all 6 on gameday anyway. And we could probably get a WR or two on the PS. So if one gets hurt one game, we can still bring another one up the next week.

Copper sucks as a WR. If we need help on special teams THEN I'd keep him, but if you want a guy to play WR (cuz of injury concerns) then Copper isn't your man.

Well, he will keep more than 3 TEs for sure especially since the 2 TE set will now probably be the starting formation. Other than that, your list looks good. I think Singleton days are numbered, rather keep Junior Glymph.

I also think that Proctor will end up starting sometime this season. Kosier provides ins. at RT. Green might make it as a punt return specialist. Kenyon Coleman is history and Marcus might not be far behind him.

Polite is on the list. He'd be the 4th TE.

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said "Singleton's days are numbered".

He's going nowhere.

Not as big a "what if" as the injury to this guy:

And the mileage on this guy:

Good luck and happy hunting!

I know that but he is not really a TE. He will keep another TE. I agree with you about Singleton but he was starting then. He has no chance of starting now. Its that time.

Did you not listen to BP's press conference the other day?

He said Polite is a utility player. BP LOVES players like that cuz they save him roster spots. He can play RB, FB, or TE.

I doubt we keep 4 TEs, PLUS Polite.

And about singleton, he may not be starting, but who is? Greg Ellis. Exactly how much experience does Ellis have at OLB? And who would back him up if we cut Singleton? Glymph? And how much experience does he have?

Singleton sticks cuz he's a solid player, has played special teams in the past, and is our most experienced OLB.

ok Here is my 53 list

QB:

1. Bledsoe
2. Romo
Backup or 3rd string Crayton or Green-both played QB in college
RB:

3. Julious Jones
4. Marion Barber
(heard the cowboys are trying to trade him Tyson Thompson -)
FB-HB
5. Polite

WR:

6. Terrell Owens
7. Terry Glenn
8. Crayton
9. Hurd
10. Rector If Skyler Green doesnt make roster, Rector will also be punt returner and kickoff guy, reports are that the cowboys may trade for a kickoff specialist.

TE:

11. Witten
12. Fasano
13. Hannam

OL:

14. Adams
15. Kosier
16. Gurode
17. Rivera
18. Columbo
19. McQuistan
20. Proctor
21. Al Johnson
Petitti (reports are cowboys getting reports to trade OL, so Fabini or Petti might be traded)

DL:

22. Spears
23. Ferguson
24. Canty
25. Ratliff
26. Hatcher
27. Thomas Johnson

*Note: I don't like our NG depth at all. I agree!!! They may trade for a backup DT with another linebacker trade or offensive linemen trade or tyson thompson rumored traded.

LB:

28. Ellis
29. Ayodele
30 James
31. Ware
32. Burnett
33. Hoyte ( I think the Cowboys will keep him, superior ILB on runs, special teams, but the patriots are in love with him, with right price from Pats big bill might trade him).
34. Carpenter
35. Singleton
36. Boiman
I expect one of these linebackers to be traded, either Boiman, Singleton or Gymph or Fowler-Fowler most likely!!!!!!!

CB:

37. Newman
38. Henry
39. Glenn
40. Reeves
Jones Jones hasnt been doing too good, he might be cut!

FS:

41. Davis
42. Watkins
43. Pile could make this squad, because Parcells I am thinking still isnt pleased with his 2nd gun related incident, and the Saints wanted him bad, i think by mid season you will see him traded-Keith Davis that is.
SS:

44. Roy
45. Elam

ST:

46. Vandy
47. McBriar
48. Ladeucer (sp?)
49. Suisam (sucks, but I think we end up having to keep him) I agree, I am scared of having to play Vandy with a groin pull, kicking off can reinjure that.
As you all know, Cundiff injured his groin kicking off, and Vandy reports are out of INdy that his kickoffs in 2003 were to the 5 and 10 yard lines.

That leaves 4 players, one of them i think will be a special teams returner, if skyler green doesnt show something. I would like for them to keep Tyson Thompson, you just dont find running backs with that kind of speed, i think time he can be super. Granted, I dont think he will be ever a priest holmes, but i still think in time he will be good rb. So, that puts us back at 50.
51. Gymph on potential if he shows something Thursday night.
52. Possible Sklyer Green as punt returner
53. Tony Curtis or Sean Ryan

yea stinksandglibbs was just saying that the posed question....."if our top 3 recievers get knocked out in one game" was a huge what if....lay off him he is a good guy.

but....mark brunell is ancient and its so obvious he is wearing out.

cowboyjoe, you're missing AT LEAST one OL in your roster, possibly two. My bet is if it comes down to keeping 10 OL or 6 WRs we're keeping an extra OL. After all, we've been LOOKING for a WR to trade and been RECEIVING offers for our OL. It seems like the extra tackle would be of much greater value.

Wasn't it confirmed we're not keeping a KO specialist and that Mike would do at least a couple KOs against the Vikings?

I don't think it's been confirmed but hopefully you're right.

There was a thread yesterday where someone was quoted (Jerry or Bill) that it was very unlikely that we're carrying a KO specialist. Maybe I'm dreaming this ... who knows.
