Tyler at LG and Peters at LT would have Cowboys playing their best 5.

Then Farniok at FB.

And McGovern at TE.

HULK package baybee!

What's the state of McGovern's injury?

For the Giants game if McGovern is healthy, I go with him, if he could use an extra week, I would go with Farniok, I know he hasn't been all world, but he's gaining valuable experience.

Eventually Peters, but I don't mind giving him a few weeks to get into game shape and shorten his season. A fresh Peter's with a surprising Smith could make our left side a force to be reckoned with.

My LG is Tyler Smith.

I would like to see them work more on the "McGovern at Center" idea.

LT Peters
LG Smith
C McGovern
RG Martin
RT Steele

Actually, didn't Tyron Smith play RT his rookie year?

Who will be the best LT? Probably Peters and Tyron. I'd put Tyler at LG this season unless there's a necessity.

Martin is never leaving RG, so can your dreams of him moving anywhere else.

Steele has played very well besides the week 1 penalties.

Farniok has been the worst lineman out there for us.
Why do people think making multiple changes is a good idea

I think they should give McGovern his job back. In short order we will see if he is better than Matt Farniok. If not they can give the job back to Farniok. From what I saw in preseason, I think McGovern will be just as effective at run blocking and maybe a bit better with the DL games. Not a great sample size and preseason is not the same as facing 1st team defensive linemen but McGovern is more experienced.

Everyone calling for Jason Peters at LT or LG should slow their roll until we see Peters play a down or two. We have no idea what he will look like at LG. Can he still pull? Can he get downfield? Can he stay healthy at 41? Does he still have the strength to take on 26 year old DTs?

I would definitely leave Tyler Smith at LT. That is his position now and that may be true even if Tyron Smith can come back this year. But my gut tells me Tyron will not be back until game 16 or 17, at which time I am not sure it will make sense to replace Tyler, who is already a better run blocker.
