I thought a pet cat was a player not highly regarded I mean, not rated in the top rounds of the draft?
To me, what you are defining, as far as draft talk is simply one's "sleeper"

A "pet cat" is a player or players you really like. are (overly) attached to. and want your NFL team to draft. Sometimes draftniks can get too protective or sensitive about that player so someone along time ago referred to this as their "pet cat".

I've seen "draft crush" used too for similar sentiment about prospects. Pet cat is funnier to me and have no issue with referring to it regarding my favorite draft prospects each year.

I named 5 pet cats this year:
Edmunds - likely top 15 player
Bryan, White, and DJ Moore - probably 2nd rounders, possibly higher
Bates - 2nd or 3rd round guy

My sleepers this year would be:
Kalen Ballage RB Arizona State
Daurice Fountain WR Northern Iowa
Steven Dunbar WR Houston
Jordan Akins TE UCF
Kentavius Street DT NC State
Chris Covington LB Indiana
P.J Locke CB/S Texas
Avonte Maddox CB Pittsburgh

I really like Jerome Baker OLB OSU
I think he fits the new game. Sideline to Sideline backer. Good in coverage. 3 down player . Replacement for Sean Lee.. .reminds me some if Telvin Smith in Jax.

Don't really have one yet. Depends on one's definition of "pet cat". To me it is the underdog player you have an attachment to.
Not the obvious high profile player. But I do see if someone wants specific player in round one, that is fine. Makes for good discussions.

Right now, any Ohio State player would be a pet cat for me. :D

I would say Denzel Ward, but too obvious and he will be gone by the time we pick, depending the combine.
I do like a few in the later rounds, Chris Worley at LB in the 6th or 7th round, as projected now at CBS rankings. Another late round, 5th or 6th, Sam Hubbard at DE.

I really don't think about this until right before TC and the roster for TC is pretty well set.

However going back to last year, in January of 2017, I started early on Noah Brown. And that Dallas must find a way to draft him.
I started on the Zeke train in 2014 as to they need to get Zeke.
But have no thoughts of any players yet this year, but have not paid a lot of attention to it yet.

Good choice, I didn't think of him when I posted. As I mentioned any Ohio State player is on my list for now.

His name is Julius. apx. 28-inch long. 17 lbs.

He's an orange tabby I picked up from the SPCA a few years ago.

Incredible athlete; broad jump is insane for an athlete is size. Loves working on his speed as I see him running down our hallway frequently.

I do have question about his attitude and motor though as I often see him laying around, sun bathing, he seems to think the world revolves around him and he gets distracted easily.

Rashaan Evans
Simmie Cobbs
Chad Thomas
Jerome Baker
Dalton Schultz

I loved Bradley Chubb and Quenton Nelson ahead of last year's draft. Hasn't changed, but there's no chance of either of them being in Dallas.

Jesse Bates III is my current pet cat. He needs to put on some weight but if we miss out on the top safety prospects(as we always do) then he might be a pick later on that has a real shot at being someone down the road.

Haven't paid much attention but I'll have some after Combine

Right now I like that small school guy Nathan Shepherd from Fort Hays State. Was playing really well in Senior Bowl before he injured his hand. Guy has worked his butt off to get here.

Sign on!!!!! I also have him picked out. I don't like that he comes from Wake Forest and that he's at present too skinny for S, but this kid seems to have the instincts that Roo lacks.
