Everyone hammers the first and second round players with discussion. At this point in the off-season there really isn’t much more to say about guys like Ashton Jeanty. How much more can you talk about them other than slotting them on your personal draft board and going over what if scenarios.

I love looking through the draft profiles looking for specific traits. Size, speed etc guys that maybe we could develop. Guys that are at least third rounders or later. Maybe 6th-7th rounders that have boom or bust potential.

I haven’t had the time to dig into the prospects like I do some years, but what do you guys think of:

Donte Thornton WR
Can Scattebo RB
Bhayshul Tuten RB
Desmond Watson DT
Isaiah Bond WR
Savion Williams WR
Ollie Gordon II RB
Kalel Mullings RB
Oronde Gadsden II WR/TE
DaQuan Felton WR
Deone Walker DT
Jay Toia DT

Who am I missing? Who is the road grading 350lb OG that Mel Kiper isn’t talking about? The 275lb LB who was a collegiate wrestler? The undersized 100 meter dash champion?

Who are your late round guys no one knows?

Man, that last game Scattebo played - that's ALL the announcers talked about was his dynamic ability to run the ball. They must have said his name 2,000 times during the broadcast. I want him. I know that isn't very scientific haha.

more like rounds 5-7, Her far too many really good players that are picked in the 3rd and 4th round we don't even have a 4th rounder this year I hope we can get one somehow through trades but most of those guys are not usually what I would refer to as a pet cat that would be the lower rounds plus undrafted free agents plus all the little free agents we brought in this year new guys who may or may not make the team somehow a fan gets focused on them and that's why they call it a pet cat..

I'm not sure why you're asking this before the draft,

wouldn't it be after the draft and you get to see who they picked 5 -7 and then we can pick our pet cats, because randomly throwing names up there you don't even know the Cowboys are picking them..

a pet cat would be one that's on the roster which includes undrafted free agents and all the new players brought over in the offseason, you pick out camp people that you favor and hope they make the team....

Thor Griffith.

I have no idea where he falls in the draft. Assume day 3. Former Harvard graduate. Strong DT, with the makeup to play multiple fronts.
State wrestler.
Honestly just started to follow him due to his name.

I like Thor Griffith, think he would be a very good choice in the 7th. Strong and an excellent choice to develop.
I like Desmond Watson........he is way too big, way too slow, but is that trashcan full of dirt when they want to run up the middle or goal line scenarios. He is a developmental guy that will either trim up or flame out........
Oronde Gadsden II -- I don't think he will fall, but he is more WR than TE but sized like a TE. This is a strange one that an innovative OC might have fun with. Would be great in goal line packages.
Deone Walker -- one of my favorites before that Senior bowl. Built like Tarzan but plays like Jane. NT size, quick feet, could be a difference maker.......but has no anchor and plays too high - many OL can get leverage on him rendering him useless. Would take an excellent coach and lots of work to get him to his potential, but if he gets there -- his ceiling is the best DL ever, but floor doesn't get him a second contract. Boom or Bust.

My guy not on the list. Tahj Brooks, RB, Texas Tech. He should be a 5th rounder or later. He set the all time record for rushing at Texas Tech, and they have had several RB make it to the pros. Good size, Good feet, Good quickness, Good vision. Is not a home run back, but can be the bell cow that daily just takes the ball and help you move it down the field, and can block ad catch so no one knows what you are actually going to do with him. This is the guy when you have the lead in the 3rd or 4th qtr that you just hand the ball to, and drive down the field eating up time.

Good post but Rico Gathers? Dude never amounted to anything but the longest person I have ever seen out for a concussion at that time. I'd rather find a Jay Ratliff. ;)

Gadsden is one of mine. Damien Martinez is one. Teslaa the WR is one....he is a poor man's Tet, LOL!!
