Time to find out who the real Dallas Cowboys fanatics are.

Roll call.

It has nothing to do with fanatics.

It has to do with being able to realistically assess a season.

And yes, I've officially thrown in the towel on the 2012 campaign.

The most rational thing to do is to not expect playoff success. I suppose there are legitimate cases to make for a playoff spot, however.

I dont deal in fanaticism, i prefer realism especially when dealing with this team.
7-9 or 8-8.

No offense, but those of you who have done this, please go find another thread to play in.

Then this thread's not for you. Go away, please.

How does one "give up"?

Count the Cowboys out before they are mathematically eliminated.

I have never done that and will never do it no matter the odds or how hopeless it looks.

This thread is for those who feel the same way. It's not for those who call themselves realists to come in and rain on the parade. (There are plenty of other threads for the "woe-is-me" crowd.)

Absolutely not, then.

There's a decent chance three or four teams will be tied for the final wildcard spot at 6-6 next week -- the Cowboys among them.

If you don't like the thread, go find somewhere better to spend your time.

Thanks.

yeah it's amazing isn't it. tampa, seattle, and minnesota all have tough games on the road.

i think i wouldn't mind if the giants won next week and knocked out the skins.

I'm a lifelong fan and this season is over.

Then you're not a fanatic and you need to leave now. Thanks.

fanatic — a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal

I know that they still have a chance as it is still mathematically possible for them to still make the playoffs. I also know that it doesn't matter one iota what I think.

If I had my druthers, I'd love to see us go on a run and win out and make the playoffs and compete for the SB. That is my inner fan speaking.

My realistic mind, however doesn't believe it can happen. Of course we would all like it to happen.

I went to ESPN and played around with the playoff machine. I have not given up on this season. If we win 5 straight games we are in the playoffs. If we go 4-1 we are in. The Seahawks and the Saints have a pretty tough schedule in front of them. We play the Saints and the Commanders and can control our destiny. Until we are mathematically eliminated, I will not give up on this season. Remember the Giants were in the same position last year and if I don't recall they are the Super Bowl Champs. Some of you said that no 9-7 team will win the Super Bowl but the Giants did.

Obviously you can. Not sure why you'd want to unless you're just one of those people who wants to be miserable and take as many as you can with you.

Again, this thread was created for Cowboys fanatics, not Cowboys quitters.
