madden 07 for 360 is garbage. if you have a current gen system (xbox, ps2, gc), get that version instead. although it's not much improved from last year, it's a lot more fun than the 360 version. PS3 version of Madden is hyped to be better, but from all the videos I've seen, it looks and plays exactly like the 360 version.

NBA 2k7 for 360 is the best basketball sim game I've ever played. You can do so much strategy in the game. All the animations look so realistic. If you search on youtube, they have comparisons between the game and real life. It's easily one of the best sports games ever made (behind Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution).

As for your original question, both games look astounding. I'd go with Gears of War though. It's something new and original by the guys who made Unreal Tournament. I've played the Las Vegas demo, and it feels similiar to past Rainbow Six games. The graphics are top notch, and the AI got better, but I don't know.

If you think you'll be playing on Xbox Live a lot with other people, I'd say go with Rainbow Six. If you see yourself playing solo, buy Gears of War.

Unfotunately, Pro Evo sucks this year on the 360. If you want a 360 soccer game, I'd say go with Fifa 07. The 360 pro evo team was kind of lazy. The PS2 version of Pro Evo is much much better than both Fifa and the 360 Pro Evo.

I dont know, Ive read the reviews and I see that PES is ahead.

Not to mention playing my friends in live gams. I dont really think PES can be beat, no matter how crappy the next gen options.

I will be buying it.

It really sucks that EA has the Fifa License. I bet more people would play Pro Evo if it had real players and teams. Personally, I don't mind because the gameplay is top notch.

I completely agree, I have edited my previous WE versions until now, but I hear that this version wont have an editor.

I will be happy, because compared to FIFA it sucks, and I have loved the GUNNERS since I have lived in London. Its a good sounding game for me.

I subscribe to Setanta to watch the Gunners in the league and in Europe.

It is so frustrating to see them run up the score on Reading, only to see them come out equal with Everton and tied in a match they should have scored 15 on vs the Russians.

I haven't been able to see a single match this year. How has Fabregas been developing? I remember he came on strong at the end of last year in the few Champions League matches I saw. He was able to make some really nice passes. The Fabregas-Henry combo could be really lethal. Has Theo Walcott played at all in a match?

Fabregas is unbeliveable. He has the best technique I have ever seen. Theo plays, but usually AW puts him on around the 65 minute mark. Its hard for him to prove himself in an Arsenal shirt, but he will be a big part of the squad once he grows into it.

Cesc has all kinds of raves about him, he had a feature on SOCCERNET this week.

So, is the 360 worth buying? I get free video games to review, and I don't have the new X-Box. I was thinking about picking it up as a, ahem, business expense. What does the PS3 have to offer that's going to be better than the 360? I've always been a PS man myself, but....

It just depends on what you want from your system. The 360 has some great games coming out. Gears of War is going to be awesome. The sports games will pretty much be the same on PS3 and XB360. I am familiar with XB's online service and it is really great (playing with your friends, others, etc) I dont know anything about PS3's.

Microsoft recently released an update to the system that will now upconvert your standard DVD's to a high def picture. You will need to buy a HD DVD player attachment to play HD DVD's. The PS3 runs off of Blu-Ray. I dont know if you can play your regular DVD's on it or not. But if you want a Blue Ray player, the PS3 is cheaper by $400.00 than the current market for Blu-Ray players.

All of that really does not matter if you dont have a 1080p capable TV.

Graphically, PS3 might have a slight edge, but truth be told I doubt it is noticeable to the naked eye.

Gamewise, most games will be available on both the PS3 and XB360. There will be a few exclusives to each system. Gears of War and Halo 3 for XB360, Metal Gear 4 for PS3 (are the main ones I know of). I know GTA 4 will be on all systems at the same time.

Most of the launch games for the PS3 are games that have been on XB360 for almost a year now. None of the games launching with the PS3 look interesting to me.

I have a 360 and am happy with it. I love the Online service and it has the games I am interested in. My TV will not display a 1080p resolution, so the advantage of the Blu-Ray is lost there. (the most recent update for the XBox 360 also allows 1080p resolution for the XBox. This just happened a few days ago, so that would also negate the advantage of Blu-Ray to me).

You don't need 1080p to get an advantage of Blu-Ray, 720p or 1080i will be good too. The advantage of Blu-Ray is being able to play Blu-Ray movies, and for games, if it's ever needed, there's a lot more space on the discs.

Now with Xbox, you can get the HD-DVD, so that somewhat offsets the Blu-Ray movies aspect of it, but at the time, not all the movies will be available for both.

I recommend camping out and getting a PS3 to put on Ebay. That will pay for your 360 w HD-DVD drive , PS3(once they are readily available), and Wii, and some games too.

I have waited on the next gen consoles, and I am extremely tempted by Rainbow Six : Vegas and Gears of War.

Yea, thats why I plan on purchasing the extended warranty from Best Buy or wherever I happen to get it from. My launch era PS2 is still working like a charm, but I have heard reports of over heating which makes me think that the warranty will come in handy.

I made the leap to next gen on the way home today. I got the 360, Splinter Cell, and GRAW.

I played some GRAW on live and was getting tagged, started playing the Splinter Cell single player mode and realized I totally forgot how to play that game.

I am getting the FIFA 07 demo now.
