Who picked up Kris Richard?

Went to the Falcons as their DB coach. First task will be to forget that there’s a ball in the air and stare at the WR’s face.

i know Wiki is reporting that Richard is the current ATL secondary coach, but i've not heard or read any other
news or reports elsewhere of Kris Richard joining the ATL Falcons as their DB coach.
And i'm not seeing Richard as among the current Falcon's coaches list on their official website.

There was an early report that new Cowboys DC Mike Nolan was interested in bringing Kris Richard back to be DB coach.
but Richard likely declined.

USC (his alma mater) was scrambling for a DC and many USC insiders predicted Richard could the guy, but nothing happened.

Not sure if USC or Richard wasn't interested, but seemed like an ideal fit.

Richard has some image/credibility repairing to do for sure.

You won't hear about him because he's not with the Cowboys anymore. Coming to the Cowboys: all over the news! Now? *crickets*

Wikipedia is the only site saying he joined the Falcons. I can't see anywhere else that confirms it. Our defense was a mess last year partly due to both him and Marinelli basically splitting DC duties. It was time for both of them to go. I had high hopes for him when he first came here but that came apart quickly. Lewis still deserves more playing time!

You forgot the first lesson is actually to TALK REALLY LOUD AND YELL A LOT so that people think you know what you’re doing.

...Did he land anywhere? Once there were talks of him taking over the D. SO much for that. ;)..
As far as I know, he didn't land anywhere.
Not the worst year to take off if that's how it works out.

And Lewis likely still won't get as much here even with a new coaching regime... 15 million dollar Anthony Brown is gonna be the 3rd CB (at he least) while bigger size will better dictate who will start on the outside- all early indications is Chido and maybe Diggs could be leading the
case for the starting outside CB roles.

-Richard made Byron Jones into an All Pro in just his first year here. But he was ever equipped with the guys he wanted. We didn't
make the deal for vet All pro FS Earl Thomas even when he became a FA.

-And he had to be forced to work with Marinelli's lousy run gap scheme and a LB coach Ben Bloom that he didn't want nor got along with.
If we were to be converting to concepts of Seahawks Legion of Boom, then why did we not fully commit Richard to what he wanted to
run the defense. Instead of this Co-Helper role.

-But Richard had his own flaws too. i did not like Richard's blitz scheme, and he couldn't get the leftover CBs to turn their heads to play the ball.
-Awuzie and Brown came into the league with that bad habit..and they still have that bad habit after he's departed.
-He still maintained Jaylon at middle LB, and LVE at OLB - just as Marinelli did when he had full control at DC.
-We still did not gather turnovers with a guy that had control over the back seven
-And per Chicago game- i thought the defensive unit simply gave up on him,

He didn't make byron jones anything. Byron was and always has been just a man coverage player. And that is exactly who he still is. Can't play zone, zero instincts, and no ball skills. Byron only looked good because chido and our safeties were worse. But when byron was thrown at the qb passer rating was like 40th in the league.

Watch him in Miami this year.

PS Richard sucks.

This guy fooled a lot of people on this board. Just because he was young, cool, and yelled at guys.
I think we just over-expected too much becuz of the Legion Of Boom.

Then when he came here and moved Jones to CB..he began to look smarter than his previous position coaches.

We all wanted somebody from inhouse to replace Garrett and his wagontrain started to roll.

I really never understood what happened with Marinelli and why they did not mesh. After 2018 I thought things were rolling and 2019 would be a playoff run year with our defense.

Then the wheels just fell off.

If anybody has better info on this crash of coaching I would love to know. Marinelli was too far entrenched and had too much influence in the draft where we had Taco tank and Hill struggle after all of Marinelli's boasting about Hill being his pet cat.

What is the real story?

I think that might have more to do with us playing him in his actual position instead of Safety...

Our CBS have been taught that since Zimmer.
