I love PP's talent but we I dread what happens to Romo next year if we don't fix the OL. If you trade up for PP you obviously don't get a Rd. 1 OT. By the time #40 comes around Smith, Catonzo, Solder, Sherrod and Carimi will be gone.

So he plays RT next year? Please don't say Colombo.

I too would like to know who plays RT, even if we don't take Peterson, if they decide on someone like Quinn, Bowers, Watt, Jordan, Amukamara...ect.

I really don't think this will happen

but theres FA's

I really like this guy - hes got a mean steak

Jah Reid, OT, Central Florida 6-7 # 321

or

Joseph Barksdale, OT, LSU

Barksdale isn't getting the national recognition he deserves. He is by far the best technician in his draft class. He has elite knee bend, has textbook hand use, and displays nice patience in pass protection. He's a very athletic, talented player

There should still be some very good OT prospects available in r2 , Guys like Carpenter, Brewer, Ijalana, Franklin,Gilbert maybe even Solder you never know. I would take PP and a guy like Ijalana 1 and 2 over Smith/Castanzo and a midget like Harris every day of the week and twice on sunday.

I would be fine with PP playing RT and CB as long colombozo isnt.

2nd round prospects can play RT. (But some 1st round guys fall through all the time)
Sam Young
Free Agency

Good Point on Carpenter, also Lee Ziemba there are some guys who can do the job that will be available in the 2nd round with the cache of the top 5.

I think we could trade down in the 2nd, get our 3rd round pick back and pick up an OT like James Carpenter or Marcus Gilbert in the 2nd and then either Will Rackley or Kenrick Ellis in the 3rd. Either OL players could be day 1 starters at RT in my opinion.

Whoever it is, I do not want to live the Rob Petitti days again.

And for some reason I get that feeling when I hear the name Sam Young. I'm still pulling for the guy, but for some reason I am not confident in giving him a shot

Then I guess you would have never given Tuinei, Newton, Gogan, or Gesek a shot either.

I wouldnt be shocked if Sherrod fell to the 2nd. Not sure if hed make it all the way to #9, but a quick trade up wouldnt be hard to do. Smith, Castonzo, Carimi, and Solder should all go in the 1st. That leaves Sherrod on the fringe.

Also, no mention of Marcus Cannon for 2nd round? I think hes a great value there.

Couldn't we ask the same question about how our terrible secondary is supposed to improve if we take a RT instead of a DB?

This team needs a RT in one of the first two rounds AND sign a veteran in FA... Unless they think Brewster is that guy. I wouldn't trust a draftee to start this year regardless.

You can still find a starter in round two.

If the position isn't addressed in the draft it will be in free agency. Clabo, Gaither?

This is why we need free agency BEFORE the draft, damn this lock out! We could have potentially filled a tackle need, our DT/DR situation may have been taken care of, CB and S may have been solidified.

Ask yourself this question:

Who is closer to the end of the line? Newman or Colombo?
