It has now been reported that Sims will play SLB and Carter will play WLB with Durant most likely out.

In other words, Carter will remain the WLB but will be replaced in the nickel by Sims. Reporters have been so giddy to report that Carter will be benched that they've done a poor job of reporting what will actually happen.
