Who plays?

Some time it works, some times not. When you knowingly go to listen to someone play covers, you'd rather they not muck it up with their style and just here the song as it is.

I could make it work.

Agreed... dont like when they muck it up.

Maybe you can get Tommy Aldridge to play for you.:laugh2:
What's he doing these day's? I met him once about 20 years ago, a pretty miserable dude overall. Complained non-stop about Ozzy and made it like Ozzy and Randy were nothing and that he was Randy's best friends in the whole world.

I think he is a great drummer. Not just a "filler" drummmer. Guy has his own melody LOL He complimented Randy well and vice versa

Had a stint or two with Whitesnake I believe with Rudy Sarzo as well

I didnt know he was like that... oh well....

He is definitely a great drummer, can't deny him that. He has a great sound too. Saw him live with Ozzy and playing for Yngwie about 10 years ago. He had his own troupe of fans there too, people who didn't even come to see Yngwie.

I just have this funny memory of him ragging on Ozzy and one of my friends.:laugh2:

It was priceless, this 16 year old kid, fresh from an Ozzy concert saying he thought Ozzy sounded good and Tommy looks him in the eye, dead serious and say's "And you call yourself a musician?" We laugh about that to this day, damned near 20 years later.

Violin is tough. I borrowed one for a few months and gave it some time. Not very easy, but I want to buy one and really learn how to play it well.

If I had the extra cash, I'd have a music room with anything I could fit in it; drum set, strings, brass and just live in there.

Violin is second in difficulty only to the oboe and bassoon. I was happy I started it in 4th grade. I was a technically good player but I wouldn't have considered myself much of a soloist.

I had a friend that was really good, but she started playing the suzuki method when she was 5 years old.

The market for the early Ibanez guitars are really starting to pick up. When they were making copies of other guitars and the quality was good before they went mass market.

I know people that would love a destroyer and ice man guitars.

Oh and on the Gibbys...I guess if you are getting them in guitar center at least you can inspect them. Just be sure to check out the binding and inlay work as those seem to be two areas that quality control has slacked on.

My brother had an Ibanez Les Paul. A truly good guitar, that I still miss. The dope sold it for a pittance a long time ago. I see them on the wall at Guitar Center, but haven't checked the price.

After reading the above, I thought for a second what I could get for my Destroyer, but that's all it was. A second. Ever since I laid eyes on it, I loved it. Someone will get it after I die, but until then, I'll hang on to it.

That's pretty disheartening about Gibson, for the longest time, they'd maintained great quality. After Fender srewed up and started having any hack build their guitars, they were ruined. Truly awful to play. It got to where playing a Squier was more comfortable than a true Fender. A classic gone to junk.

I hope Les Paul doesn't go that route. I know it's a matter of taste with the fat necks, but that neck fit's my hand perfectly and I love to play them.

I'll bet. It can sound really atrocious in the wrong hands.:laugh2:
I'd still like to get one and suffer through the growing pains, before I can really play it. I catch on to playing pretty quick.

I never heard of the Suzuki method, I'll have Google it and see what that means.

when I do take it out that is what I make horrible sounds with. Takamine ef341-C. Love it. IT sounds great when I am not playing it.

Admit it, you bought it because Bruce plays one, didn't you? ;)

no doubt. I played one in a store one day without realizing it was that exact model. It was 850. I couldnt justify spending the dough so I walked away. About 3 years later the first year I moved to DFW I decided I wanted to start playing again because I had time so I waited patiently. It took about 4 months but I got one off ebay in a hard case for 325 with shipping without any flaws!!!

the thing sounds great, I love it. Lots of musicians use them. Bruce has played takamine acoustics since the early 80s even though he records I believe with gibson acoustics.

I love the sound of the violin. I would love to pick it up. Its always been in the back of my mind.

If you listen to the song "Revelation(Mother Earth)" on the Blizzard of Oz album.... the solo at one point sounds like he is mimicking the violin with his guitar.

If you ever get a chance... give it a listen... let me know what you think...

When I lived in Wichita Falls, the school system started orchestra in fourth grade. I played cello for three years until my family moved to another city that didn't offer that. Unfortunately I haven't picked up one since.

Same happened with the guitar...

Damn, a lot of guitarist on the board. I tried to learn the guitar back in the day but I was young and had no idea they made left handed guitars. Being left handed, I couldn't figure of how to play the thing and I kept wondering why my hands hurt. I sold the guitar I had and moved on to drums...Which is funny because I've been playing the drums right handed ever since.
