Who remembers last Det at Dal Playoff game?

Stats don't say that he did though.

That one wasn't about stats. It seemed like every time we had Detroit where we wanted them Sanders would break a run for a 1st down. It wasn't one of those 20 carries for 180 yards type of days. It was just a pick and choose to break your will kind of days. Hated every second of it.

Barry Sanders absolutely destroyed us that day.

He sort of did and he sort of didn't.

Detroit played the run and shoot but we decided to play them with our base defense. So we had LBs and Safeties trying to cover WRs and it was a colossal mismatch which was made even worse by our lack of a pass rush. IMO, our strategy was poor and we should have just let Barry get his yards and play them straight up. We would have stood a chance that way. The Lions WRs were so open that some hack named Erik Kramer looked like Dan Marino out there.

We still owe them for that loss in 1991 as well as those 2 recent heartbreakers.

I barely remember it as I was only 6 years old and a baby Cowboy fan.

This was a historic game as it is the lowest scoring Playoff game in history.

Dallas 5 - Detroit 0

Mel Renfro sealed it with an interception.

I remember the 1991 game in the Divisional round.............we beat Chicago at Soldiers Field in the wildcard round the previous week........................I remember Detroit blowing us out..................that was Detroit's last playoff win ironically.

Gee, 90% of you totally missed the boat.

The title of my thread said the last Det at Dal game - not Dal at Det.
The 38-6 drubbing by the Lions happened in Detroit. I wasn't asking about that game.

A lot of people weren't alive to remember the game in 1970. It was 45 years ago. I've watched the game through online sources. And have it on a hard drive. It's a rough game to sit through. Not just because it was a defensive battle It was a lot of bad offense as well.

Remember both of them , the first lead to us getting to big game and losing to Baltimore Colts by FG. The second was not pleasant to watch, but the following years made up for that ....

I was on a ski trip in Canada, watched that debacle in a sports bar.

I do, Dallas looked really good in the wild card game the week before vs the bears but just werent ready for the lions in their spread offense with Barry. Couldnt get no passrush. 1992 came in charles haley
