Who should be the new starting LT?

I personally think we should put Pettiti there, Tucker would be servicable at RT, and RTs are easier to find than LTs.

Tucker for now.

I can not believe I am saying that. That first Pre-Season game I wanted him gone, but he seemes to put that behind him and improve through the Pre-Season.

I definetly reserve the right to change my mind though.

We have to bring in somebody though for sure. We have no Backups.

Ross Verba has to be the best option if he does not act silly about his salary.

Which side did Rob play in school? If the transition isn't too great, I would like to see him move over and Tucker play the right side. Just the same, I voted for Tucker to start.

The rest of this year will be painful, but hopefully we will figure out how to game plan so the impact is not as bad as I think it may...

Next year...plan on one of these guys in Big D:

D'Brickashaw Ferguson
Sr
Virginia
6'5
295

Eric Winston
Sr
Miami
6'7
310

Jonathan Scott
Sr
Texas
6'7
310

Marcus McNeil
Sr
Auburn
6'8
340

Andrew Whitworth
Sr
LSU
6'7
325

I voted for Tucker, but that is just for this week. I think we need to trade. The Seahawks dont have a great passrush, but Tucker against the Cardinals might put Bledsoe out for the season. The question is who can we trade for, and what do we have to give up? It looks like the Lombardi trophey is up for grabs this year, and the Cowboys have just as good of a chance to win it as any of the favorites. One thing I will say is stay away from any o-lineman from the Texans.

I can only think of Ross Verba. However, I dodn't know the situation of each team, and certainly not enough to ***** how their backup LT's are.

Seeing how the Vikes have packed it in, I say make a blockbuster trade for Bryant McKinney.

Oh MAN!!! Why did I wake up!!!

I'd agree, but it seems like we need someone servicable for 1 year. Adams will be back next year. Tucker scares me. He did ok out there, but he wasnt great. Guarantee that once teams can gameplan at Tucker, that's problematic

Petitti was a left tackle in college. I remember an article where he said he was struggling a bit with the transition in minicamps. He said it's like trying to use your off hand for everything, whatever you normally do is backwards.

Allen!

He gets payed for being a LT..Let him be one!

We won't miss him near as much at LT Guard as we will Adams at LT Tackle!

Although...With him getting so big..He probably couldn't move as fast as we need him too.

Tell me why you NEED to lift 700Lbs?

He hasn't been the same since he got so hooked on the weight lifting. IMO!

Sorry, thought that was funny... :laugh2:

Petitti to the left and Tucker on the right if nobody is signed by the Seattle game.

Ferguson will be selected way before we pick, and Winston too, although I'd love to get him. Johnathan Scott might fall to us. I'm not as high on McNeil, he has great size, but I don't think he is in the same class as the first 3.

My thinking exactly. Petitti played LT his whole time in college and is much more ready to move back then for Tucker to step in since he has been mostly a RT in college and the pros.

Tucker at LT for now. try to sign someone or make a trade, give that player a week or so to learn the offense, let them compete with tucker for the job.....But

No team is going to trade away their starting LT, so your just getting another teams back-up player. as far as FA's, who out there are we going to sign that is as good as Flo, your not going to find that. So its still a drop off in talent, and are they going to be in football shape ?

I think we need to sign someone for depth and to push tucker or battle him for the job, but i just dont think whoever we get is going to be that much better than tucker.

I'd love it, but unfortunately the Vikes are only a game out of first in their division.

Jonas Jennings in San Fran might be an option if they're feeling very pessimistic over their season.

Rob.

Torrin played so poorly in preseason he was beaten out by a low round rook. Many folks were surprised he even made the final cut - I was not as I know Bill is intrigued by his physical qualities, his combination of size and agility.

But Torrin made the roster again based on potential, NOT performance. Rob made it on a better performance.

The only thing I don't like about moving Rob to LT now is that even tho he played there in school, he's had enough of a learning curve this summer and early season for it to be unwise to throw even more at him now.

The LT is the fulcrum of the line and the building block of an O.

This one's a dilemma, a big one, but right now, I'd sleep easier with Rob at LT.
