Henry Melton is under contract.

It's obviously Bryant and then McClain. Murray comes if he comes, doesn't if he doesn't.

I will take the top 3-4, they will be the easiest and most affordable and all play key positions. Melton under contract that leaves Murray and Dez...is there enough Cap Room left to sign them both and go get a pass rushing DE in FA....?

I'm thinking that DE is the top priority in the next year's draft...

If push came to shove...I'm afraid that Dez Bryant and even possibly Melton might get the financial head salaries to carry on with.

melton is signed for next year. all we really need to do is rework the numbers so the cap hit is less and the contract is already designed to do that

Some very tough decisions on the horizon.

Melton might technically be under contract, but it's no certainty he returns in 2015. He's due significant money and a big guarantee next year.

I think Free or Parnell have to be brought back so as not to disrupt the good thing going on the offensive line. Free may make more sense, given his age and likely an aversion toward moving his family at this point.

I want Bryant back but not at Megatron/Fitzgerald money. If he's adamant about that, I would tag him, trade him, or let him walk.

Murray is having a phenomenal season, but the league is bringing the running back market down and any negotiations with him will be tough. I believe that before all is said and done, Murray's future in Dallas will be connected to the Adrian Peterson situation in Minnesota.

I would very much like to see a deal done with McClain, but again, it's needs to be the right deal, with some safeguards protecting the team.

The front office has their work cut out for them.

Al right, am going to ask the question?
What can we get for Dez in a trade?
Is it possible we get a 1st and 2nd?
just asking

I think Ro has really hurt his stock with all the nagging injuries. He will get a pay raise, but for a while it was looking a lot bigger. Durant is having success in this system and older. He's not going to get a big day anywhere. Free might be able to do better than the 3-4 million we might offer him, but does he really want a change of scenery at his age being a career dallas cowboy? He's already shown he is willing to take pay cuts to stay. Melton is already signed. So, that leaves:

1. Dez Bryant - top 5 wr in his prime

2. Murray - career year

3. Moore - could be a hot commodity as every team needs depth at cb.

Dez has already turned down a 10 year contract that averaged 12 million per. So, he's getting a huge deal in Dallas whether we think it should be a top priority or not. Moore has become a valuable cog with Claiborne busting and Carr playing horribly and likely being a june 1st cut next year. Murray is the only guy that might want more money than he's worth.

Just for argument sake....Cleveland has two 1st rounders and sorely need a WR.......I would ask for two 1st and consider a high 1 and 2nd..... Cowboys can get a lot of players for 10mil a year....the defense needs a lot of help...

dream= something like a Hershel Walker trade but with Cleveland

Watch out for the "build from the wr position" crowd. Dez paired Josh Gordon would make cleveland lethal on offense to go with their stingy defense. It makes sense for them since this a weak draft for WR.

Its just rare for a team give up that much and STILL have to pay a huge contract particularly for a wr. I can think of Joey Galloway and Roy Williams as examples of why team's don't do it.

A week year for the draft for WR? But I heard on CZ that Dez can be replaced in the draft. LOL

1. Dez Bryant - going to be a $100 million but need some insurances
2. Demarco Murray - lots of talk on Peterson, Murray younger but depends on the money
3. Rolando McClain - will be a decent signing but have to factor in his mental health, we do get Lee back and Hitchins plays well
4. Sterling Moore - has found a home here and will probably sign a reasonable contract
5. Justin Durant - I believe he will be more reasonable than most believe
6. Ron Leary - will be a RFA and need to sign him long term, shouldn't be a problem though
7. Dwayne Harris - want him back but really at not much over the vet minimum
8. Cole Beasley - will be a RFA and probably gets a 2nd round tender
9. Lance Dunbar - will be a RFA and probably gets a mid round tender
10. Bruce Carter - wouldn't mind having him back back not more than say the vet minimum
11. Kyle Wilber - guy has value at DE, DT and LB but not more than vet minimum
12. Anthony Spencer - not sure I even attempt to sign him unless no one else does and he plays for the minimum
13. Darrion Weems - will be a RFA and probably gets low tender

Technically, Free and Melton are under contract next year if we choose to keep them but both will probably have their contracts reworked for the benefit of the team. We have Selvie, Hayden, Parnell and Bernadeau that will also be UFA guys but just not sure we even attempt to sign them until after the 2015 draft. Same goes with Tyler Clutts at FB.

Much also depends on who is available in FA and if we are active there. IMO, I don't see us doing much with the 1st tier FA guys like Suh. Peterson, if Minnesota releases him, could be a different animal but only because of Jerry who probably envisions having a tandem of Murray-Peterson as a life saver. (a little fact: Norv Turner recommended Joseph Randle to Jason Garrett so take it for what it is worth).

Also, not sold on Weeden as the backup so for me, I would look at drafting one within the 1st three rounds or take a hard look at Jake Locker or Sam Bradford as backups in FA over Weeden. Locker will be 27 and Bradford 28 in 2015 while Weeden will be 32 and neither Bradford or Locker have had the running game, WRs and OLine that we have had.

We also have to take in where we are drafting (hopefully 32) and who might be available. Most of us see it as DE and I would agree but if a OT free falls, I'm not going to be disappointed either. To tell the truth, I would love to have a speedster like Amari Cooper at WR but that ain't happening. Have to gauge where we need help and the best player available.

Right now, think we could use backups on the O line next year, a speedster at WR, DE (which seems to be the weakest), safety help and then CB. Yes QB is a concern with Tony's back but unless Jerry buys off on it, seems a bit crazy to think we will address it with more than a backup guy.

Should be an interesting end to the year and off season.

in this order:
Melton (don't rework the contract just pay him the $9 mill next year)
McClain (performance based contract - not a lot of guaranteed money)
Bryant (franchise if he price is too high)

Murray - I think its highly likely he signs with another team
