Rob Ryan appears to love Scandrick.

Will Scandrick he be a starter when Newman and Jenkins are healthy?

Let's hope so, he is the future and the future starts now!

Who else is there to love? Newman and Jenkins have been riding the pine for a whole year now. This is getting ridiculous! We are finally here and these jokers are still not healthy!!!

Jenkins is practicing again, but Newman is back to his usual self, injured and taking forever to recover. They can't waive him becasue he is injured and he will be on the roster for the first week, so he gets his full salary.

I would not start him if he ever makes it back, I would stick with Scandrik. He will be the starter next year anyway.

It's a possibility depending on how the team wants to use Newman. If the team wants him to play, but on a limited basis, then Scandrick may get the start alongside Jenkins, with Newman coming in on Nickle situations.

My boi Oscan to the rescueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Scandrick & Jenkins on the edges. That's what I would love to see regularly.

I don't think they're going to bench Newman this year, but it could be his last year here, especially if he has even more injury issues.

If Newman becomes the #3 CB, he will probably be the most expensive one in the history of the NFL with a salary of 8 mil per season.

Not at this moment but who knows what will happen during the season. It may end up that way.

At some point, the issue is almost academic as many teams use 3 WR formations as their base offense now.

Newman gets bagged on for not having the ball skills to make plays. Scandrick has the some of the worst ball skills I have ever seen :laugh2: I don't know how he can be thought of as an upgrade over Newman at this point.

I have read/heard he really likes Scandrick's blitzing ability but I have yet to read or see one thing touting his coverage ability. Scandrick will never be more than a good nickel corner. Honestly, if we are talking about the edges, I would take Ball over Scandrick.

Seeing how things have played out at other positions, it's a toss up. I really hope that Ryan and Garrett just play whichever guys have put forth the most effort and played better, doesn't matter which of the 3 start at the 2 positions, this team will benefit from the better players starting.

What do you mean? He has the uncanny ability to ALWAYS have his back to the ball/play. I would say that takes some serious skill. I don't think I have ever seen the back of a players jersey as much as Scandrick's.

If both are healthy, no; but Scandrick sees good playing time.

But if I was to answer who will be starting week 1 my best will be that we will see Jenkins/Scandrick starting the Jets game with Newman out.

If Newman is %100 he is a very good CB. He played most of last year injured and just can't seem to stay healthy. I like Mario Butler and if he can add some strength I can see him as a starter as soon as next year. Scandrick and Jenkins look to be starting against the Jets.

I'll take 90% of Newman over Scandrick only because of his experience. Of course I would not want to see him on the field if he runs the risk of aggravating his injury.

Scandrick may turn out to be a solid CB but I would prefer to go with the known commodity if possible.
