Base - Connor.
Nickel - Carter.
End of the year -- I hope Carter is good enough to be the full time guy.
That would be a dime package. I would hope Carter is better in coverage than Lee, so he'd be the linebacker in the dime.GloryDaysRBack;4581545 said:church was getting first team reps at ILB in nickel situations the other day in practice

Technically correct is the best kind of correct. He wasn't playing linebacker. He was playing the sixth defensive back.GloryDaysRBack;4581547 said:Technically, yes.

When you substitute a linebacker in your nickel with a defensive back it's simply called a dime package. It doesn't turn a safety into a linebacker.GloryDaysRBack;4581550 said:It's been well reported that Ryan has been playing safeties in place of LBs during nickel situations to get beefier cover players on the field. Guys who can play the run and pass..

A dime merely refers to six defensive backs. The 6th defensive back can either be a safety or a corner.GloryDaysRBack;4581553 said:He's typically replaced by a CB. You don't have 3 safeties on the field in dime situations.
It's a nickel package w church playing LB
