Around in 1990? LOL I was around in 1970.
There is no guarantee they would have won 4 straight if Jimmy stuck around. Emmitt's bad hamstring may have still prevented Dallas from winning in 1994. And if Dallas does win in 1994 what happens next? Does Jimmy stay with the team or move on? Despite any issues with Jerry, Jimmy was not one to stick around any one spot for a long time. Are the Cowboys still motivated enough to keep playing at that high of a level in 1995? Does Michael Irvin start the truly hard partying in 1995 instead of 1996? Too many variables.
For those of you who hadn't yet been born or weren't following the Cowboys from 89 to 95 you really missed out. Those of us who were following the team during that period saw the absolute worst of the Dallas Cowboys other than the 1960 inaugural team and the absolute best of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys went from one of the top 10 worst teams in NFL history in 89 to one of the top 10 greatest teams in NFL history only 3 years later.
All some of you have are the highlights of those seasons but you'll never experience the emotions that those of us who watched the games live feel everytime we go back because we get to relive the moments. To watch the Cowboys evolve from such a dreadful team in 89 to such a great team only 3 seasons later was pretty amazing.
