The fact Rivers is still playing and is 2nd in passing this season tells you everything you need to know. Neither has won anything, but Rivers for longevity, durability, and consistency wins out.

I've always like Rivers but he isn't 2nd in passing.
Do you mean just total passing yards?
The dude has throw 7 interceptions in the last 2 games and has 15 TDs and 14 ints after 11 games (has not had his bye week yet)
Never in his career did Romo have that bad a TD-int difference this late in the season, or that low of a QB rating after 11 games.
Rivers is 22nd in the league in QB rating at 85.5.

But he does have a big advantage in longevity. The guy has been an ironman to some degree.

Are you talking about the same TO that has a famous interview where he was literally crying saying how Romo was HIS QB? Now I've never heard about either of them saying anything bad about Romo but lets say they did. That's 2 out of what a couple of hundred players that played with Romo over the years and from that we can safely assume all or most or even a large number of his teammates had a problem with him. Come on Whirlwin that's really stretching it.
.
Look I'm not saying. Romo had major issues. I'm just saying. I think he liked keeping to himself. Who did he go to Cabo with Jason Witten. Don't look further into it than what I just said

*Edit* as coach Garrett grins upon genuflecting this.

Batman. He came back from his back being broken.
Jerry. He's already a vampire. Probably a Lost Boys head vampire.

Easy questions.
Bring something existential.

Romo came back from a broken back multiple times.

that guy is special. He’s always got some weird, left field comments. Whatever you do don’t engage

Ya, know? I'd just about chimed in earlier in this thread, when it started to seemingly veer off to the "locker room" likability factor with the #9,,, if he's aching in pain? Ain't nobody gonna' be all that congenial to anybody,,,( I know I can be a bear with a sore *$$ ,when I'm hurting)o_O

I still have a hand held calculator my sister gave me for my birthday in 1979. My phone has a calculator on it, but I don't expect it to last 40 years. Does that mean my old calculator is better than my phone?

Rivers has had a bad 2 game stretch and this is his worst season by far, sans passing yards. However, his career int rate is virtually the same ad Romos. They really have had similar careers, but Rivers gets the nod for longevity and better total stats.

I don't really understand your analogy and how it relates to Rivers vs Romo? There may be a 2 year period one can argue Romo was better, but Rivers has had the better career.

My analogy speaks to the fact that, just because something lasts longer doesn't mean it's better quality. The calculator can do math, but the phone can do so much more. Rivers can throw the ball, but Romo could throw it just as well, and he made a lot of those throws after escaping what appeared to be impossible situations.

I'm asking because I genuinely don't know, but how many WRs has Rivers made look much better than they are? Romo certainly made several look like #1 receivers, when they really weren't.

They really just haven't though...

This place loves 4th quarter stats for Dak, but suddenly ignore it for Rivers? The dude has lost 61 games when trailing by 7 in the fourth quarter.

Rivers has volume stats at this point.

Some would say he wouldn't do that because Witten is his bestie........I wouldn't, but some would.
