I try to remember the really OMG what? moments in the past like the Dolphins taking Ted Ginn Jr. or the Eagles taking Marcus Smith more recently. So in the first round who will it be that goes 1-2 maybe 3 rounds before you expected?

Forgot that time the Broncos took Maurice Clarett in the third, that one was a "you gotta be kidding me" one.

It shouldn't be too hard for Cowboy fans if you're honest. I think most of us were scratching our collective heads when they announced Travis Frederick.

This always puzzles me. Over drafted?
He was a bear in college and that 40 time stuff was laughable
and what did he go on to achieve. That was the future i know but the beard is our center
piece on the line and i pray we continue to screw up and over draft in the same fashion.'
We'd be so lucky.

Ah, yes, a lot of big-time Travis Frederick fans prior to the draft. I totally remember that....

It was like you couldn't even start a new thread in the draft forum because of all the Travis Frederick related posts.

I was fine with the pick. I won’t lie and act like I saw him play but it was about time we drafted an olineman.......and one from an oline school. It added up to me.

I remember when the Raiders took a crappy WR just cause he was fast that was a head scratcher and I think they took their kicker in the first also. Tebow was a head scratcher. Manziel and Weedon were head scratchers.

If someone takes Lamar Jackson in the first I will scratch.

Im thinking Geiseki will get over drafted and probably Allen, And Vander Esh. And maybe that OT Molton? But I haven’t watched him to comment.

I personally think Kirk will get over drafted too.

I wanted a center that year.

As to whether Frederick was the answer, I had no clue.

But I hoped that the team would pick well.

Whenshould Vander Esch gets drafted to you? And how do you compare him to Edmunds

Late 2nd. I’d be happy at 50 to take him not 19.

Edmunds a much more refined player and IMO better all round. I’d be delighted to get him at 19.

Roberto Aguayo was one in the past, this year I think Davenport will get picked too early

You nailed these

I'll add Donte Jackson

Allen. Dont matter if you can heave it a mile, 56% completion NCAA passers have a dismal history in the NFL.
Well, get ready, because its not out of the question that he goes 1st overall.
They say his accuracy issues are completely based on very reparable footwork.

The Raiders seemed to that fairly often.
I think they Darrius Heyward-Bey at 7th overall. At least he ran a 4.3 forty.

Some of these might not be all that shocking, but I think they will get some play in the 1st:

OT Mike McGlinchey - bad tackle class can only help his cause
OT Kolton Miller - see above; tested well
QB Mason Rudolph - if Brandon Weeden could be a first rounder, he certainly could be
CB Jaire Alexander - very similar to Jason Verrett that people didn't really expect to go in the first
S Justin Reid - by all accounts he blew away teams with his football smarts during interviews
S Jessie Bates - a lot like how Keanu Neal went earlier than expected
DE Josh Sweat - if he clears medically and teams look and see how he was misused at Florida State, a team might take him late

Some later round types that could get a call in the 2nd or 3rd that nobody would expect:

ILB Genard Avery - get over the fact he not physically imposing, he is a little missile out there
CB Quenton Meeks - if you want a smart zone corner, he is a prospect
QB Kyle Lauletta - never underestimate the QB thirst teams have
DT Kentavious Street - a real freak that can play all across a DL
WR TreQuan Smith - not getting the publicity as some others, but has good traits
WR Jake Coutee - has received some Desean Jackson comparisons
