Who works out in the mornings?

I prefer early morning workouts. I get up at 5:00 to go do mine. I built my own workout room. Anyone who works out with me has to sign the wall.

Hostile, what type of equipment do you have and is this inside your house or somewhere like in the garage?

I would love to stop paying 24 Hour fitness $60 a month.

Join the Y. Not all the bells and whistles as a 24 hour fitness-type club, but they're comparable especially if you find 1 that's newer and well kept.

My doctor asked me if I exercise.

I said, "what do you consider exercise?"

She replied: "Sex doesn't count."

There is no way I would pay that much.

I had a small storage room that I decided to turn into a weight room instead. So I took all my tools out of it and painted it white then painted these 2 Arizona logos on 2 of the walls.

Logo 1

Logo 2

I copied those to clear transparencies then used an overhead projector to shoot them on the wall where I traced the borders. Then I painted the logos. The wall by the door is where people sign. So far it's just me and my friend Kojo. I am sad because he and his wife just moved to California for Grad School, so I need a new workout partner.

I installed some blue carpet and then a shelf in the corner for a CD player and a ceiling fan to keep the air moving. After that it was just moving in the equipment.

I have 400+ pounds of Olympic free weights. I have an Olympic curl bar and a long bar. I have an incline bench with leg attachment.

I have a piece of equipment that is for pull ups, pushups and dips. BTW I think dips are the best exercise ever for building muscle because so many groups are affected.

I have a Total Gym which I use only for abs really.

For cardio I swim or ride my bicycle. I can't do stationary bikes and watch TV or listen to music like some can. I have to see stuff. I wish I could still go running but my knees just won't take it. I used to play basketball 6 days a week. Again, knees couldn't take it any more.

The whole room, paint, carpet, weights and all cost me about 500 bucks. I found the equipment at yard sales and craigslist and it is not shabby stuff. Good equipment.

Rampage, when you bought the Elyptical, did you have to put it together or is it just 1 big piece that someone just delivers to your house?
I'm pretty sure wherever you buy it they will put it together for you if you want. I put mine together though. all you need is allen keys and grease which it comes with if you choose to put it together yourself. it's real easy to put together(not complicated) you just might need someone to give you a hand to hold one of the legs while you tighten screws with the allen keys.

If by 'work out' you mean prying my ponderous bulk out of bed, and lurching my way to the bath room.
Then...I do. :)

Thanks for the responses.

Was real hard getting up again but I did it.

It didn't help that I had to fix a flat tire as well.

I think I am going to look into getting an elliptical machine and I bet it pays for itself in about 6 months.

Stretch out before you go to bed at night on the days you exercise.

I have tried but just don't get as good a lift in early as i do later in the day so on days i lift it's always late afternoon/evening.

Cardio, i try and get done early. Get the motab going for the day and it's pain in the *** is out of the way.

I just re-started working out after a three year hiatus. I go in the mornings because, well, honestly, I just prefer to get it over with.

Now that I'm getting older (32), I'm placing more of an emphasis on cardio. But when I say "more of an emphasis", bare in mind that in my younger days spending more than 10 minutes on cardio was asking a lot.

I'll either do the eliptical for 30 minutes or run for 2 miles (I hope to increase that when I get in better shape). Then I'll do weights. And then I'll hit the hot tub/sauna for a little while. Although I'm thinking about cutting out the sauna because I really don't see what the benefits are. Even the hot tub is overrated, IMO. I get bored sitting in there after 5 minutes.

FB Workout:
2:30 EST - 4 PM EST

My Workout @ http://www.northshorefitness.net/:
5 PM EST - 6:30 PM EST. (Average, some workouts run a hour, some run 2.)

@ People talking bout stretches, I never stretch, but im 16

It's a very bad idea to not stretch prior to working out and afterwards as well. Stretching helps reduce the soreness, helps to prevent injuries, everything. Stretching is so important.

Day 2 of my diet and I was doing good until I mindlessly ate a oatmeal Raisin cookie.

Its so boring, and makes me fart. :laugh2:

I've been working out at nights for like 13 years. I have more energy at nights, especially after eating a nice size dinner. I have no energy in the morning so it would be a waste of a workout. No can do lunch workouts, b/c I have to have a full 1 1/2 to eat.
