Who would like to see at DC next year?

I think Mike Zimmer is simply the wrong coach for this 3-4 scheme. Our run defense is getting ripped apart and there seems to be no let up in sight. The players seem to be more confused as the season goes and are making their tackles too late.

Who would do a better job taking over our 3-4 scheme next year?

The more major changes we make of this nature, the more it will just delay us. I would like to see us put in a blitz package with our 3-4 (what is the point really if we can't blitz from many different places), which will hopefully come next year, Bill probably thought moving to the 3-4 would be enough of a headache so he is saving the blitz packages for next year. Only reason I can think of for us not to blitz like other 3-4 deffenses.

I think it is a matter of Parcells drumming into them not to be the guy that costs us a game. We react and not act. No aggression equals passive resistance

dom capers

hes a 3-4 guy and i think we will get him when houston fires him

Zimmer has never coached the 3-4 scheme before this year...how bad could replacing him be?

I'd take him at this point.

Some guys are just better at coaching positions IMO.

Any other possibilities...?

How about dumping the 3-4, since we do not have the lb's to run it?

I wouldn't have played it in the first place. The DL is better than the LBers. Scheme around that.

Anyone but Zimmer and also Payton........and I'm not too sure of Parcells anymore

That would make too much sense unfortunately :banghead:

Anyone but Mike Zimmer. What a joke for a DC.

Getting rid of Mike ZImmer will improve our Defense more then adding any player to this D from FA.

This is a case of addition by subtracion so anyone would be better. But that said I would like to see Greg Williams but he will be a HC somewhere. The other option would be Monte Kiffen (sp) if he's available.

How about Jim Haslett - isn't he about to be canned in NO?

Haslett was EXCELLENT as a DC in his career.

He IS experienced with the 3/4 too.

BP won't can Zimmer. If he does that and brings in a real DC, he'll be facing the same accusations of not being able to win w/out excellent assistants that he did with Belichek. He wants all the glory or he's gone. A lot like JJ after letting Jimmy go.

Pride comes before the fall.

I would take Haslett.....younger than Capers and someone who is more suited to be a DC, Capers may still want to run a show....
