Who would rather we draft a CB next year in the 1st?

Don't get me wrong, we will need a RB but jeez, we already have MB3. PLENTY of quality running backs were taken after the 1st round. I just think it is more important for us to get a cream of the crop CB than it is a runner.

Thoughts?

would make more sense using Cleveland 1st overall pick....instead of waiting to use our 32nd overall next year

It's still too early to say we should take a CB with our first pick, but it should be one of our higher picks at least, IMO.

its 3 days before the season opener...I have other thinsg on my mind

16+ games to see what we have before we worry about the draft

we arnt the Browns, Falcons, Lions or some other sctrub team that knows the season is over before it even starts

Antoine Cason, University of Arizona. I plan to start scouting him Saturday.

:D

Depends on the scouting service. Some combination of these guys is probable.

1. Jimmy King, Penn State
2. Agib Talib, Kansas
3. Dejuan Tribble, Boston College
4. Antoine Cason, Arizona
5. Dwight Lowery, San Jose State

It's never a good move to draft for need IMO. Draft the best player on the board or trade down for more picks.

We don't even know what next year's free agency will look like. We might pick up a Drayton Florence to take over for Henry. ;)

For the Chargers to give up on him, Cromartie would almost have to take the starter's job away from him.

Are there any CBs right now who are sure fire Top 5 picks? Remember we still have two 1st rounders.... i think.

If CLE has the worst record, I will almost guarantee that we won't be taking a CB first. And guess what? There won't be anything wrong with that. Give me a CB late in the first or in the second, and I'm still happy. We are probably gonna have to take a long look at drafting a WR too.

There are too many unknowns and a whole season to get all riled up with what we should take first. What if Reeves and Jones play way better than anyone can imagine? What if MB3 gets hurt? Too early to tell at the moment. But you can't fault anyone for hoping for a Heisman candidate RB.

It all depends on how the season goes. If JJ doesn't impress enough to get a new contract, we'll need a RB. I just don't see Barber as a full time starter, though I could be wrong. I'd like a starter to be a little more explosive. You know, like DMac.

What is Romo isn't what we think he is? What if he stinks it up? He's also in a contract year. If he's terrible (I don't think that's going to happen, just saying), we may take a QB such as Brian Brohm, etc.

That having been said, if Romo and JJ play well and are signed to new contracts, then yes, go with the best corner in the draft. Then take a WR with our second first round pick.

Julius is a goner. Replacement=RUNDMC

CB = its a long season. One of the youngsters may step up. If not WE STILL dont pass on McFadd.

I have said before I'll say it again. If Dallas has the chance to get a top back like McFadden then I take him. I think it is very important to a team who runs pretty much a blanced attack to have a quality RB. I not going to short change the importance of the CB position but other than the QB the RB position handles the ball more than any other offense skill position so yes I want the stud RB

I'd like to see how the season pans out before I start formulating any opinions on next April's draft.

Who do you like for the 2012 NFL draft? I think we are set at CB, with Cason on board. Ware is starting to get long in the tooth at this point so we might want to look into another LB. When was the last time we drafted one of them?
