Who would you compare Dez too?

Which "former" WR would you compare Dez too?

Quick thoughts:

• The player I thought Al Toon would become before his career was basically destroyed by injuries
• There run after the catch aspects of Sterling Sharpe I see in Dez Bryant
• David Boston (before he got fat)

None of those are good matches frankly.

He reminds me a bit of David Boston, who was a monster and a physical specimen, when healthy.

Unfortunately for Boston, he never lived up to his full potential due to a lot of off-field stuff, steroids, and injuries.

Don't think Dez is in danger of going that way, but I'm certainly conscious of the possibility that Dez never lives up to the billing for a number of reasons, even though he's currently my favorite Cowboy.

Keyshawn came to mind but frankly Dez is unique. I tried to find someone who seems physically stronger than those he faces but also undisciplined and a bit hung up on his own persona. I came out with Keyshawn.

Maybe a young Anquan Boldin who can jump higher and run a faster.

Boldin was a better route runner, but Dez has more fast twitch.
Both are physical with great hands.

He's a big play guy that can be shut down if you put a quality defense in from of him ala Steph Curry.

Dez is primarily a possession receiver, but no possession receiver I can think of has his acrobatic athleticism to go along with size and strength.

And talk about physical.

Chad was a finesse wr. With break away speed. He's nothing like Dez.

T.O was physical like Dez but he was a different type of player. He was faster and could break tackles. But he didn't have the jump ball ability Dez has.

I think Calvin Johnson is the best comparison. Dez is just a smaller and slower version.
