Who would you hate at 12?

For me it’s Omarion Hampton. I’m one of the most anti 1st RB posters on here but in a weak class I’d be fine with Jeanty. RB2/3? Hard pass.
Any offensive lineman. Especially the Ohio State left tackle, Josh Simmons, that missed most of last season with a Patella tendon issue.

I don't hate players. I don't know how any of them are going to turn out, so I prefer to wait and see. Some have Hampton around 14, so if he's the pick, I'll hope he turns out to be the best RB in this class.

I think we get too caught up in reaches and positions, etc., when we don't know if the team will be right about the player.

Maybe some just want to be able to say they were right about this player or that player, but maybe they were wrong about another. I don't find that to be a good use of my energy.

But I reserve the right to rag the front office when they get it wrong. They deserve all the criticism in the world for drafting Taco Charlton over T.J. Watt, for example, even if Charlton was taken about where he was projected to go.

It's more of 'what position would I hate' for me. Thankfully I don't think the Cowboys are looking at any of those positions. OL, S, LB, TE and maybe even WR.

The only CB I would want at 12 is the one they would not take in Barron.
The only DEs I want at 12 is Carter, Green and possibly Walker. But I think they want M.Williams

Would have no problem with Jeanty as he would be pretty much the BPA and a need.

I like Tmac and Egbuka, I have a feeling they might like Golden better.

The weird thing is I would rather trade down if we took Hampton or just wait to get a back later.

But a few things give me pause if they really like and want Hampton.

What if you cannot trade down and he is gone before the next pick. Or they trade down but a team still takes him before they pick.

For two years we have needed to draft a RB. They have visited with and brought in many possible RBs to draft.
They kept thinking they could wait until the next round. In those two years of need they drafted one RB in the late round in Deuce.

So what if they decide to start taking other players they want and push the rb to later only to run out of viable options yet again.

And maybe the least likely but still a slight possibility.

What if he turns out to be the best RB of the class and a future HOF player. Would you complain much after all was said and done.

I remember a draft from the past that turned out a little funny.

1999 Everybody thought the colts would take the top RB.. And the top RB in the draft class was thought to be the can't miss Rickey Williams.

The colts passed on him for Edgerrin James. Most were shocked. Ditka went crazy and traded away too many picks to move up and take Rickey Williams.

James is in the HOF....Williams is not.

Not exactly the same here because Jeanty is probably already gone, but maybe Hampton turns out to be the better of the two and he is the one you take.

Many say they do not want a RB in round one. Round one might be the time you want to get one as you get a 5th year option before you would have to continue the contract at a higher level. If you did not want to continue because they player wanted a crazy contract, draft another and let that player go.

Fans gets caught up about reaches bc when this team reaches and drafts for need / fit they usually blow it.

Taking a RB like Hampton, way earlier than where he is ranked, at one of cheapest positions in football in a loaded RB class would be insanity to me.

Or you can take bust at LBer, QB,WR, or OL some of the most expensive positions. I know your issues is RB but I agree Nampton may not be worthy of 12 but Jeanty? You make that pick and don't look back. if he's your guy. Sure you can get another RB later but you are BNOT getting Jeanty.

In a class as bad as this one I’d be ok with Jeanty but wouldn’t love it.

I think players with a similar ranking will be available at a more valuable position.

More valuable positions. LOL.

Could any of these players provide the impact Zeke did in 2016? Only maybe Jeanty. It's not going to be any of these "more valuable" WRs, LBs or, dare I say, CBs.

How "valuable" was Barkley this year? How about Henry? Would you trade that for a cornerback? If you would you are a colossal moron.
