I do not like Fluker so I would have taken Vcarro or try to trade back.
I really like the idea of trading with Cincy.
18 and 47 for 21 and 37

Unless there are immediate plans on moving Fluker to guard and the coaching staff feels comfortable he will succeed there I don't want Fluker. Too big with heavy feet to play tackle in the NFL imo. Leonard Davis comes immediately to mind when I see Fluker.

I'd take Werner. BPA at its finest. He's too good of a prospect to fall that far just because he had a mediocre combine. He was a consensus top 5 prospect when everybody was looking at just the game tape.

I would also take Vaccaro over Fluker as well for what its worth.

No I would take Vaccaro. Out of the fits for the cowboys I have Vaccaro ranked 2nd after Cooper.

I'd call San Fran & see if their interest in Tavon Austin is real and if it was I would definitely trade back and stock pile a few of their extra picks. If no one wants to make a move I'm taking Werner or Vacarro and gonna be satisfied with it either way.

werner scares me, one good year in a defense where it seems every DE looks good. I think its the system plus playing terrible confrence

The draft trade value chart says that 18th is worth 900, meaning we could get:
Dallas 18(900)

We'd get in exchange (first)31st, (second)61 and pick 213(7th) (898.2 total)

Leaving dallas with: 31(1),47(2),61(2),82(3),113(4),146(5),177(6),213(7) 8 picks total. 4 in the top 3 rounds

Or alternatively:
Dallas 18(900) 4th114(68) 6th 178(20.2) for

2nd(34) 560, 2nd 61(292) 3rd 93(128)

Leaving Dallas with: 34(2),47(2),61(2),82(3),93(3),146(5),177(6) 7 picks and 5 in the top 3 rounds

I would rather have quality of picks ovet quantity

Only way I make san fran trade is my first and third for the 31st and 34th pick.

I woukd still rather trade with cincy, 18th and 47th for 21st and 37th

Dallas 18 and 47 is worth 1330
Cincy's picks are worth: 1330.

So that would work out perfectly.

If cincy wants that pick bad enough we might be able to sneak away an extra 4th.

Yeah, that's not a good situation. I don't have anyone left with a mid first round grade. If I'm forced to pick a player, give me Vaccaro. But I don't like him at 18.

Actually I might get so desperate to trade down, that I'm willing to run out of time and start offering the 19th pick.

Werner had 23.5 sacks and 35 TFL in 2.5 years of playing time in college. Thats hardly a one year wonder, he was extremely impressive from the beginning. Not too many true sophomores start on the very good Florida St defense as you mentioned. And lets not forget that Jenkins and Tank were both out by midseason this past year.

Werner is far and way the best prospect available in this scenario and we'd be pretty stupid to pass him up.

I agree Werner....but would prefer to deal back if possible.

What about D. Moore from Texas A&M at DE or Werner the FSU DE. I know most people had them solidly in the top 10 before the Combine. Moore seemed to do better at his Pro Day. I think both would fit well in our defense at DE. With all of our front 4 in their 30s except Spencer who is 29 we desperately need to add some youth. Having said that I'd prefer a DT but the 3 really good ones are gone already in this scenario (Star, S. Rich and Floyd).

However, I think the better strategy is probably to trade back and grab one of the second tier DTs or DEs later and hopefully pick up an extra 2nd rounder in the process.

Agreed, he's obviously not a one year wonder. He burst onto the national scene after the Oklahoma game last year when he abused Lane Johnson. He's not gonna blow anyone away in shorts in these pre-draft workouts, but his game film and body of work over the course of his career speaks for itself.

You don't trade players on draft day or leading up to the draft. Their value is lowest during these times, as teams feel they can fill their holes in the draft and don't want to trade for players. JJ has gone on record as stating this.

It's worth at least letting Cincy (and SF for that matter) know that as time approaches we may be willing to deal.
Two way street though. There is zero reason for anyone to trade up to us unless there's a player they love far more than the others that will fall to us.
Slim odds, but it happens
