Who would you rather have on the Cowboys? Patrick Crayton or Peerless Price?

I voted for Crayton under the terms of the poll because I think crayton is younger and may have more upside.

However I would like to have both on the team with the understanding that both could live with the idea of the whoever played better wins the #3 job and the other is at #4.

Because chances are that will move from #3 to #2 and the #4 would move to #3 before teh season is up with the injury history of Terry.

To be honest, it should be a toss up even though I voted Crayton. Price does have a couple of productive seasons under his belt. Crayton has great potential but he has to prove it in real games over the course of the season.

And is he on the team now, or not?

It still doesn't change the fact that Parcells brought him in when he's not a great special teamer.

If he could produce as a WR he would still be here, regardless of his special teams. Just like Antonio Bryant was.

TBC, you silly boy.

If course, it's NOT about Patrick vs Peerless.

Patrick will be at least the #3 the entire season.........the question is if is Crayton ready enough to be the #2......because at the bare minimum 100 posts these past three day have maintained there is no possible way Terry Glenn plays a full season.

Got nothing to do with Patrick at all. ;)

Maybe we should preemptively put Glenn on the IR to clear up another roster space :lmao2:

We could just give Morgan his wish and let him move on to other team.

My bad. I'll change the poll to #2 on the depth charts. ;)

Hah Natedawg, I've been thinking that too.

And I am also waiting for the inevitable 'poll': What game does she go down in?

I have a pretty good idea what Price is about since I saw his glory year in the AFC East.

There are always two sides to any story, and in Atlanta (at least last year with their wco variety), Price was expected to block a lot, and there were more routes with more traffic taking him mid field more. Regardless of who the QB was, he was not suited to that offense. That he does not relish contact is something you will hear and read often.

He has major limitations imo, in toughness, route running, and blocking...the route running being the big one as that is what apparently most irritated the coaches.

This notion he isn't fast is news to me tho. He might not have Morgan straightline speed, but he has some on field speed.

IMO, he wouldn't give us any more than Joey did, he certainly lacks anything like Terry's agility, his route running, route versatiliy, and willingness to do whatever he's asked. Hands aren't exceptional either. I should hope when the 'inevitable' happen, it be Patrick Crayton Bill immediately elevate to #2.

I don't care how many passes Price caught in 02 with Bledsoe under Gilbride, he isn't going to 'replace' T if he does get hurt, only substuture for him, and he only represents an upgrade over Morgan because Quincy has had such terrible hands here.

But he DOES represent an upgrade over Morgan.

At this point so might Dedric Ward.

Am I missing something here. Nothing changes if we somehow get a healthy Price at a price we can afford. Crayton remains Terry Glenn's backup and will go in for Glenn anytime Parcells wants to spell Glenn. On paper it will be Price vs Morgan for 4th spot and Morgan gets cut. The real change (Keyshawn won't like it) will be Price beating out Keyshawn at #2 with Keyshawn playing in the slot job (after all Keyshawn is 33 and this might extend his career). Crayton gets same amount of time envisioned for him by Parcells and if Glenn goes down then Crayton steps in for him--don't see Crayton any less snaps or playing time unless Glenn down for long period of time. The big adjustment will be for Keyshawn and if Parcells will bit the bullet. This also eliminates the problem of Price having to play ST. Finally if we get Price, and Bledsoi is only inducement we got, it is because Parcells really believes he can help us enough to make Keyshawn role change. In addition to cutting Morgan, Parcells has to choose between Chowder/Cooper although I'd cut both and keep 4 TEs, not including Robinson. Only if I desperate to keep the best ST player would I keep one of the two C boys.

A better question would be "Who would you rather have, Peerless Price or Keyshawn Johnson?". CRAYTON IS THE FUTURE! Crayton is here to stay. Will be the #1 receiver next year and go over 1000 yards.

By the way, my answer to the above question is Keyshawn Johnson.

Dedric Ward didn't.

Didn't he return punts?

In fact, wasn't it him that got hit while on the ground vs the Commanders, the ball popped out but he was ruled down (because he was down when he got hit, so it can't be a fumble)?

That is pretty sound reasoning but where're the much needed possession skills with a Glenn-Price combo?

I don't see that as very effective.

Key needs to be on the field as much as possible if either of these guys is starting. As much as I dislike the idea of Terry out of the slot, I think that would be a better option.

Not discounting Witten's role, which will be big, but the receiver who, despite his lack of speed is closest to being a #1 is Johnson, and the only one who could ever be a "complete package" receiver is to my mind, Crayton.

I don't see a Glenn-Price combo, two complementary non- or poor-blockers and one who wasn't able to separate worth crap over the middle in Atlanta being able to get it done.
