Joe Thomas is a solid player.

March-Lillard was a star of the udfa types in training camp last year.

Both Thomas and Lillard would likely play WLB in base just like Lee with Jaylon at SLB.

Reports of Lee staying are confusing.

Perhaps they are discussing him coaching the following year.

So they pay him now and turn him into a player coach.

It's the only thing I can see.

What team is going to give him any kind of deal this late in his career and with his injury history?

Joe Thomas looked good in limited action last year. They just re-upped him.

Wilson played 28 percent of defensive snaps last season. The Cowboys dont regularly play 3 LBs, so I would guess if he's not resigned his replacement is already on the roster or filled by a rookie.

To play SAM backer a player is usually a bigger guy... Covington is 245, while Joe Thomas is more of a nickel LB or WILL.

Sean Lee needs to be planted firmly on the mfn bench.

We've been cheaping out at SLB for a long time. The backup to Jaylon at SLB will be one of those, and that's fine.
