Who's Zeke's backup?

To the best of our knowledge, Elliott has not failed a drug test. We actually don’t know if he did.

Only a true idiot would fail an NFL drug test. They have a certain window and publish the dates for testing. I doubt Elliott is being randomly tested. Maybe he is as a result of his suspension. I doubt it though. I doubt he could pass true random testing.

Elliott has always been one of those special rules players - rules for me and rules for them. That is bad for culture and team.

If by "special rules"....you mean unfairly suspended because of GODells feud with Jerry....then okay.

Cops dropped charges
All her friends she attempted to recruit (tampering with evidence/obstructing police investigation) said she totally lied.
GODells own female counsel said no action was warranted.

SIX GAMES....right when the cowboys were poised to make a serious run after an awesome 2016 season. And you gonna sit there and tell me "special treatment"?

Oh that's "special" all right.

Look...not gonna lie....zeke has some behavioral issues. I actually think he has something that people been covering up. ADD...something. It doesn't excuse everything. But GODell came after him for no real good reason.

To preserve the integrity of the NFL's sterling reputation? Oh please...what the...

But should we be accusing him of something we don't know he has done?

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think Elliott is a bit of an idiot, and I agree with your earlier assessment that there always seems to be something going on with him, but I don't think Quincy is a fair comparison, nor do I want to say drugs are a problem without evidence of that.

I know we have Tony Pollard but is he the replacement should Zeke get injured?
He's got nice RB skills but I don't think anyone regards him as a full time RB.
It Pollard is the guy, who's his backup?
Ummmmm.......
Pollard?

I agree Elliott got railroaded by Goodell. I was not referring to that but internal team rules at OSU and Dallas.

I'm not saying Elliott isn't beyond his best years, or that the team shouldn't be looking for options, but Elliott and Quincy aren't exactly apples to apples. Quincy never stood out as a player, and Elliott never failed a drug test in the NFL.
How about you take your foot off his neck for just one more year.

Give him another shot to prove his worth to you. Since he has sucked so hard...no leading the NFL in rushing ever...not laying blocks covering for a crappy o-line. Maybe you are right....doesn't deserve another down.

Start Pollard.

I don't know if it's ADD, didn't his parents pretty much say he needed a gaurdian (not sure thats the word they used) in college because he tends to make bad decisions. I think the bottom line is he has been the supreme athlete most places he has gone and basically started punking all pro's his first preseason game and that probably compounded the problem. The the last few years it seems to me he has grown alot in behavoir issues, comming into to this camp looks really focused and I'm betting he has a great year....you could be right though he could have some condition people are covering up.

Didn't know you were privy to such things.

You think zeke was the only party boy in the NCAA? HAlf of them might be gone with your stringent criteria of no trouble ever. Didn't Bosa have some trouble too? I mean we could make a big long list.

So then...too much favoritism as well as undeserved treatment? Hmmm....interesting.

That suspension was devastating not only to cowboys but zeke...not just on the field either.

I worry more about Pollard getting injured than Elliott. I care more about Pollard than Elliott. I am not an Elliott fan, especially after what I saw on the field in Elliott last year. Would like to see true competition for starter at the RB position, not Elliott gifted the position.

Rams just lost their starting RB Akers with a torn Achilles’ a couple days ago. They are already in backup mode. Hey Rams, you want Elliott? I know you don’t have 1st round picks but let’s talk second rounders.

already rumors that Rams may pursue old school Adrian Peterson,..not the best support cast for new QB Matthew Stafford.

You're judging Elliott especially after what you saw last year??? So according to your logic, Elliott supposed to have had a pro bowl year running behind a offensive line full of 3rd stringers consisting of two other offensive linemen who weren't even drafted?

Thank God you aren't on the staff of the Cowboys because you expect miracles to win games opposed to real logic.

I’ talking about the heart of a champion and those prioritizing football over drugs and parties. Elliott is not one in my book going back to his OSU rave party days. Just my opinion.

Henry doubled his output with not much better talent on the OL and much less talent at QB and WR. Explain that. Or should I say, let’s hear excuses.

I don't think we'll know for sure on Pollard being able to be a full-time RB until it's necessary. But that's pretty much true of any back not taken early in the draft. I think the Cowboys are happy with the backup option they have and we have greater things to worry about.

Come on now the Titans O-line was better than what we had most of the season...no doubt Henry is a beast but our O-line was in shambles most of the season.

I really like Pollard, and think he’s vastly under used here under Kellen.

- Underrated lower body strength and run-vision.
- He can break and run thru his fair share of tackles, but remains to be seen if he can carry full game load vs spot duty.
- Plus vision and instincts in between tackles
- Ability to turn the edge
- One cut slashing runner with plus elusiveness
- Has definite burst and home run ability.
- Flashes plus runs and slash play oriented
- If Zeke is hurt and ailing, i'm not worried about Pollard's ability as a fill in backup.

- Not developed yet as a sound blitz-blocker
- Under-developed and under-used as a pass catcher
- His move-the-pile power is not on the level on zeke
