Why all the hate on David Irving?

I do not understand why people are calling Irving a nut job and finding reasons to put this kid down. What has he done that is so wrong? Yes he was suspended 4 games. Why? He promoted (and used) a weight gain supplement that his agent recommended. You would assume that the agent would make sure that it was NFL approved before he had his client endorse and use the product, he didn't, Irving got the punishment, his agent, fired. Other than not making sure that the product was NFL approved I have seen nothing to warrant so much hate toward the kid. Am I missing something?

Agree, he is one of our most dominant defensive players. His strength is position flexibility. Not sure why we wouldn't resign him unless there is a ton of dirt behind the scenes. One could argue that it makes more sense to lock him up more than Lawrence (especially with his past health issues).

I'm not ashamed to admit I don't hate David Irving at all but instead, inclined to appreciate having his talent aboard.

Way too many of us feel better about ourselves when we take pleasure through criticizing others. It's an ego boost.

Because that is the way most of this place is, or it seems at times.
People hate just about every player because they fart in a way they don't like him farting.

One small incidence and the guy is a criminal. Dez has never been had an off the field incidence where he was arrested, but yet to some on here he belongs in prison the way they post.

Because they post like it.
If it is looking for why or why not to let him walk, then they need to post legitimate reasons why.
not just post..he used drugs so let him go...as even when they are told the story behind it, they will still spew the same old crap about using drugs.

He’s exstemely inconsistent

He the type of ego character that will eventually hold out for more than he’s worth.
Ask yourself would Pats give him a multi year contract?
To resign him the price must be right, or we’re better off with the pick.

For me its not hate. More just wanting the team to be careful. This kid has red flags all over him. Someone with those kind of flags you don't give a small fortune to. This is the same guy with a concussion who was out at a bar with friends instead of staying home recovering. For me its a character thing. Just don't trust him.

I don't hate DI at all. He's good when he's been on the field.

My position has been merely a plan to flip a practice squad player with off the field issues for a (tendered) first round pick. Getting something for nothing.

I think most see the talent but worry about the other issues
We have to decide if he is the long term answer and tender accordingly
Or we could sign him and move on
My guess is that if they put a second rnd tender on him there are issues that really worry them
I don’t know what is true or not about him but he is maybe the most talented player we have and I’d love to keep him but he can’t help you if he’s not on the field and committed 100%
