Why are so many fans here picking the Patriots to win?

I know the Patriots are an excellent team BUT so are the Cowboys!!

They're both 5-0 and while the Patriots defense out-ranks the Cowboys D, the Cowboys offense out-ranks the Patriots O.

The Cowboys offense obliterated the #1 defense at the time (Chicago Bears).

The Patriots have NOT played any top defenses!!!!

Analysts point to the Buffalo Bills, their common opponent, as evidence that the Patriots are better. PLEASE!!! Does anyone remember the CHEAP shot by Wilfork on J.P. Losman's knee that took out the Bills QB in the first half of their game with NE.

If the Pats had faced the Bills on Monday night with a prepared Trent Edwards, the game would have been much closer.

I, for one, truly believe the Cowboys will WIN!!!

I'm not sure it would matter what QB the Bills started. The Pats still would have blown them out. We SHOULD have blown them out and dominated them in every category save one, and it's turnovers. If Romo doesn't have his worst day as a pro, we win that game handily just like New England did.

We are only as good as Romo. I guess when Romo is throwing the ball directly into defenders hands as in the Bills game, all of a sudden the entire Dallas team is terrible by the media. When Romo is on his game, like against the Bears, then it's the opposite in their eyes. We know Romo won't be perfect today, but he just has to play smart and make the Pats d work. I am hoping he goes back to his scrambling ways, making their d 2nd guessing what our offense will do from play to play.

ummmm....because they are the better team?

Certainly the Cowboys could get on a roll, the Pats could make some mistakes, and Dallas could win by 20.

But....anyone looking at the Pats and Cowboys realistically, player for player on both sides of the ball, can clearly see that the Pats are the better team and have played together and with their coach far longer than the Cowboys.

Fans want to pick the Cowboys, but I'm curious as to how many of our fans in the winners and losers games chose the Cowboys to win and the Pats to lose? How many have gambled "real" money on the Cowboys today?

I don't see either of those happening.

My feeling is that the Pat's are the "Heavyweight Champ" at the moment and the Cowboys are very talented "Up & Comers" BUT to beat the champ they are going to have to be hitting on all cylinders-- especially defense.

I think common sense just tells you that the Pats are and should be favored.

FYI- all their skill position players, Moss, Welker, Stalworth, Morris have played together all of 5 total games. Watson and Maroney are new starters. Although they look great, their havent played together all that long.

I pick the Pats for two simple reasons: Tom Brady and experience.

There's no difference in the records of the two teams. And both teams are very good teams. But Brady has been to three Super Bowls and won two of them in the last seconds of the ball game (driving his team to field goals). Romo and the Cowboys haven't been in that type of arena YET.

That's huge when it comes to games like this. Romo might be another Brady or Montana in that respect. But as of right now, Brady and the Pats have that advantage over a young Cowboys team with little to no Super Bowl and Super Bowl-winning experience.

P.S. last year when we played the Colts, Peyton Manning didn't have it either.

You can say that about any team, and to suggest that Maroney is even remotely new is silly. They have a foundation of key players on both sides of the line that have been together in super bowls...adding a few new guys is not even remotely the same as the Cowboys entire team playing under new coaches, head and coordinators...in a new system. That's an advantage for the experienced team when teams are fairly equal or when the game is close or when adjustments must be made.

I think this Pats team has so few weaknesses. They will be tough to beat. I hope we win but it ain't gonna be a cakewalk. We're good too but I can see some weaknesses on our team.

Or maybe because they are buying into the hype of Patriots by the media?

Now for record I think Patriots are going to win, but Patriots are not as good as their record indicates. But personally, from watching both teams, Colts and Patroits, I think Colts are more scary than Patroits.

I think people/Media has really overlooked Colts a lot this year. They have played against Better teams and even with Injuries to starters, they simple dismantled teams.

I think Cowboys/Patriots game will be close, unless Romo has one of those games again.

You make a good point about the Colts. They have to be peed-off with the lack of respect they're getting.

The Patriots have flaws, if Cleveland had a decent QB they could of easily won that game last week.

My biggest concearn is all the slow starts Dallas has been getting off to. I really think the defense is going to come out flying around like they did against the Colts last year. Plus Dallas has played really well at home, hopefully the crowd shows up ready to roar.

Forget about Monday nights game. Romo just had a bad day, but when you look at the big picture I think the Patriots are a better team right now. I agree with Michael quote above. The Cowboys are up and comers and getting better. Still the Pats are on top right now and for good reason.
What I think is funny is that if the Patriots win the press will have them down as the Super Bowl winners yet if the Cowboys win they will still have the Pats as the front runners for the Super bowl? What up wit Dat?
