Why Are They saying Titans Won Division

Last nights game they said the Colts will be the 5 seed in the AFC. My question is that if the Steelers beat the Titans, the the Colts beat the Titans in week 17 shouldn't the Colts be the division winner? Colts and Titans would have the same division record, and Colts would have a better conference record. Both teams would be 12-4. That should make the Colts the 2 seed.

I live in Indy and this topic has been discussed over and over. Conference record is the 4th tiebreaker in division ties. It goes to the 3rd tiebreaker in the division: Best pct in common games. The Colts lost to the Packers and Bears, The Titans didn't. I hope this answers it and we don't have to hear or see about it anymore. Thanks have a nice lovely day.

Yeah they would be tied at 1-1 agianst one another but Indy would lose out on the #3 Tiebreaker.
