Why are we all so shocked with Hill

We picked him in the 2nd round and he didnt start on his college team if I remember correctly. He was also projected to go around the 4th round. If he was taken their and we heard about all his problems, thats one thing but a 2nd round guy who doesnt dress for games, falls asleep and almost misses flights in just half a year is not promising at all. This pick and the Taco pick were by far for me the 2 most dissapointing picks in the last 10 years. Just think we could of had Watt and One of the top safeties last year or I believe Metcalf from the Hawks was still available.

I thought at the time Hill was an intriguing prospect but we definitely reached hard for him because him and Rod spent the night at a hotel together making out and "talking football."

This guy has some raw athleticism but he's either too immature or just too dumb to put it all together. He doesn't have a good head on his shoulders either so I'm guessing when fans start putting pressure on him, he will just react and we will have a Taco situation all over again.

...at least Taco could make the game day roster though.

What I dont understand is that teams have meetings with these players before drafting. A grown man should easily be able to tell when a young man is not showing true colors. Especially if you spend enough time with him like Marinellie did. Just unreal with all the time and money put into scouting you draft a kid that is either very immature, lazy or just not that bright.

Why is Marinelli convinced it's a good idea to pick these athletic lazy headcases as pet projects that turn out to be busts for the team rather than focus on guys that are mentally solid and can help the team?

I'm not shocked, hated the pick, thought we could get a quality safety. Don't know why we thought we were so talented that we could take flyer with our 2nd round pick, especially knowing this guys history....I still havent seen what warranted him as a 2nd round pick.

Most mocks had him about where we picked him
I didn’t like the pick for other reasons though
I want guys that love the game. Those guys put in the work it takes to succeed at the next level
I also don’t like drafting need in top 2 rnds
I thought the talent was better at a couple other spots like safety

I was pulling for Juan Thornhill big time. I dont know how he is doing now but thats who i wanted.

..I dont watch the drafts in football. I just heard we picked this kid named Hill. By the 2nd pre-season game, I was Huh!... what so big about this kid?

Unreasonable expectations aren't being met. Therefore people are disappointed. He gets criticized like he was a top 10 pick when in reality he was almost a 3rd round pick that we all knew needed work to improve before he started making plays consistently.

Making plays consistently?
Heck we just want to see him get in a game or maybe show up on time.

I don’t think either of these things are unreasonable expectations of a 2nd round pick.

One things for sure...we should let the next defensive coaching staff decide on Hill. Change is coming... Marinelli is center stage draft war room..when Taco and Hill show premiered
